| FULLY!!! Haha... it's hard to explain, it sounds like earlier In Flames but with a new more progressive sound in the guitar riffing... and the vocals are amazing as well. It's hard to clarify something like this album, just listen to it a few times and make up your own mind.... word. Casket ^v^ |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | To tell ya the truth, I don't know. It's pretty much the same style as R2R. I was actually puzzled "since when Johnatan Davis sings for In Flames"?!? and yeah that was pretty bad. Note that I haven't been exposed to the whole "haters" bandwagon, but I could defenitly see why there would be one. Where is the dual harmonized riffs and memorable licks gone? Now it's not original, just another one of those bands. Sure the songs are catchy, but not unique. And all the studio effects put into it like techno/electronic drums and crap. People like In Flames for what they were, they are the type of band that should NOT change like that throughout the years. Clayman was their last good album and probably will remain that way. RIP IN FLAMES.... [ May 27, 2004, 12:01 PM: Message edited by: Captain Beefheart ] |

| Don't worry Casket, Taake is hard to please. If you ever listen to the band Taake there nothing special just sound like all other death metal or what ever type of metal there listed as. (No offense Taake -Ihsahn-) I saw IF, Killswitch Engage a few nights back and IF gave me faith in metal again. They are really good live. Great atmosphere and great sound as well. And for those who hate it when a band changes over several albums will eventually hate ever band they listen to cause, every bands music will change no matter how hard they try to stick with original formula and if you try to do that it just gets boring. | Oh yes .. In Flames two or maye three last albums is the worst music I've heard in a long time .. It's really garbage, a perfect word to describe their new music.. if they only could've changed back to their old style :( And the worst part is that they're only selling better and better, at least here in sweden .. the popularity has got to them ... |

| Well I am from america so I am used to a lot of american metal. SO everything that comes over from Norway, Sweden, etc...sounds the same. I like Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Ammon Amarth, Old Mans Child, At the gates...and some others. COF and Dimmu are the next step in BM evolution. I mean everytype of muisc on this earth is going to change no matter how much we hate it. Personally I like the creepy strings cradle and Dimmu play in there music and I like IF's synth lines because it all breathes new life into a type of music that a lot of guys have said is dead. I am very open minded when it comes to music I love metal...its my #one type of music but I love Johnny Cash, Rosemary Clooney, Beethoven, Fisherspooner, The Crystal Method, Outkast, Busdriver, Enigma. I'm a music head I guess you could say but everything I just mentioned have and will change. I listened to some more Takke and it wasnt that bad I actually liked it but it just didnt catch my attention well not enought to buy a cd. |

| Well for starters you could check out these bands: Judas Iscariot - all albums are good (the debut being the weakest). My fav is "...Of Great Eternity" Krieg - the fathers of USBM. Didn't really like "Destruction Ritual", but "Black House" is amazing Demoncy - "Joined In Darkness" is what Mayhem's "De Mysteriis..." should have sounded like. The new CD is weak though Xasthur - the first two CDs are some of the best USBM out there, everything after "Nocturnal Poisoning" is mediocre Leviathan - there are like 4 bands with that name. I'm talking about the one who released "Tenth Sub-Level of Suicide". Great album, Burzum worship done well. Megiddo - can't remember if they are from Canada or US. Nevertheless "The Devil and the *****" is one of the best BM album in recent years (I can't believe this forum censors the word w.h.o.r.e - anyway that's what is supposed to be in the title. Abazagorath - good band even though tend to sacrifice atmosphere for speed sometimes. If you don't mind politically incorrect lyrics check out Grand Belial's Key. That's all for now. There are many more good bands out there, just do some research. EDIT: crap, I forgot Weakling's "Dead as Dreams". Yet Another good album, even though it is currently getting overhyped on the net. | Band that I really like are Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Old mans child. Do any of those bands have change ups in there songs or is just consant chaos? I mean that all well and good but only for a limited amount of time and songs. If all they do is blast there way through each song and dont change up anything, it just bores me. A lot of true black metal fans hate COF for stupid reasons as begining to become mainstream they cant help it that they are getting a big fan base. Dani's lyrics and singing (growling and howling) is amazing he can hit notes that most women cant even hit. But yeah I'll look into those bands. |
