It's where you take a song, say Jet's "Are you Gonna Be My Girl", take off the lyrics, and transpose the lyrics of another song, say Christina Aguilera's "Dirty" on top, then bounce the whole lot down onto one track.

Badaboom, badabing! Mash!

Wow, that must be weird. Is it usually re-recorded stuff, or do they take the actual original tracks and just plop them together?

They take the original tracks and plop them together. Do you really have no idea what I'm talking about?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but I would refer you to mashmix.com, and download anything you like the look of. They are usually very funny, and some of them work out really well.

yah, do it on decks. I sometimes mix really pop-ish type stuff with dn'b and it can work. It usually doesn't, because your samples have to be in key, or least in relative fifths (or you hav to use key-change sofware which distorts). But I made the most amazing 'Genie in a bottle' jungle remix ever.

Oh yeah it's usually called 'mixing' ('mash' is specific kind of mixing, like in 'mash-up dn'b') .

I actually heard a mash of Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and Oasis's "Wonderwall". that was pretty sweet.

I've heard about a million mashes with Eminem's "Without Me". And even more with Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". You can drop those babies into any beat.
