I started piano lessons about a week ago. Couldn't have asked for a better, more brilliant teacher. Very nice guy as well, with the same intrests in classical as me. He's my friend's uncle, a 60 year-old from Iran. He began playing when he came to Amsterdam 40 years ago. Despite his great skills he's not a genius. His skills were molded by practicing over 2 hours daily...every day. He can play all my faves - Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninov, and most impressively Alkan. He can play some of the most difficult pieces ever written such as "20 ans" from Alkan's grande sonate(never seen an old guy move that fast in my life!), or Liszt's Sonata in B minor. Incredible. I hope to be that good one day. Anyway, that's my story for the day. What instruments do you play? [ March 20, 2004, 05:52 PM: Message edited by: Dennis: ]

Been playing the piano for about 10 years now. I seem to suck more than I did when I started. Only practice once or twice a week for about 30 minutes. Meh. I just like to play the Halloween theme song on it. At school I learned how to play the clarinet (bass and Bb). I'm pretty good on that. Have to be since I get grades for it and play it in the school band. I also played the alto sax for about a week at school. Teacher wanted me to join the jazz band, but I declined since I had no time. So I gave that up. Did a little classical guitar at school as well, as a secondary instrument. I'm alright on that. Finger picking isn't really my thing. Took up the electric guitar after that, been playing for over a year. It's my new best friend. I have threesomes with her and her sexy cousin Amplifier.

I play synth in my band. You really dont need to know triads, augmented, demenished chords. Or any thing like just need to know C,D,E,F,G,A,B. But it wouldnt hurt to know them. And thats about all. Synth is sometimes hard to control. I have small ass Korg synth which is my friends and MY keyboard is played by a Japanese foreign exchange student named Tomo that we nabbed from our local college. Anyways synth is easy to use in ways, but hard to use in others.

i play guitar, bass, trumpet, & chainsaw. in a song by an 80's hair band there's a chainsaw solo, after a summer of being a lumberjack, it came pretty easy. i can also play it on a leafblower or weed eater. and sometimes a dirt bike

I've been playing piano since i was five, so that's like 13 and a half years now. I'm mainly playing chart stuff and i'm rewriting rock songs for the piano. Over the holidays i'm going to start some grade seven pieces, along with the grade 4 jazz pieces i still need to learn. Also play guitar, been playing for three years. Much fun I can do a little drum work and random percussion instruments.

i played the keyboard for about 2 years... nah, it isn't worth to talk about. if i had the time (and the money!), i'd take lessons for the piano, the violin and/or the violoncello... i love the sound of these instruments and i envy all those people who are able to play them...
