Probably another british clone band from the pack, i'm guesing. I know you didn't draw any parallel's btw Coldplay and Radiohead, but it just worries me that the media has a fixation with mentioning them in the same sentence, when they are completely different bands in an artistic sense. Radiohead has long been gone from the "poppy, flowery, post rock sound of The Smith's since Ok Computer" and that was awhile ago. Thom Yorke actually sounds like he doesn't have anything to sing about much like the blog from Coldplay, the difference is that somehow Thom can make something out of nothing, listen to "I Will" and you'll get what i'm saying. There's nothing really left to prove, the cards are already layed on the table and Radiohead unlike many of these bands WILL be REMEMBERED.
Note: Yorke actually despises Muse/Coldplay, not that it matter to me. Has anyone heard Johnny Greenwood's solo album? It sounds like eliza's description. Actually most trip-hop music is "non-guitar' driven. [ February 16, 2004, 05:35 PM: Message edited by: Captain Beefheart ] |
