| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So I watched the Grammy's with my idiot drummer and thought they weren't that bad as he said. For starters the usual cliches took place, the awards themselves were a joke, I mean Justin Timberlake? Beyonce is R & B since when? And let's not forget about the "camp" attitude from the presenters(right Praefecto?)and the usual self glorification that takes place. The "life time achievement award" got old after 2 segments. But the performances themselves were interesting, at least they were quite "varied". Here's a "run down" from the one's I remember: Prince/Beyonce: Talk about major OWNAGE. And people thought Prince wasn't hip enuff, then again what can u expect from a generation that thikns Justin is "cool". All doubts about Prince's talent were erased there. Ohh yeah Beyonce is nice to watch. Aguilera: I could have delt without the fog machine, I mean what the hell is that a Pink Floyd concert or something? Her attempts at being "soul" with her body mannerisms were pitiful. "I'd like to thank the academy, and my producer for helping me make stripped such a personal record, I got to spell dirrty with 2 r's and I didn't write anything on the record" Beatles: Good cast on paper, but the performance lacked a certain energy and magic, hell just look at Pharrel. It wasn't the best pick for a song but atleast I got to watch Sting and Dave trade verses. White Stripes: No comments, the "drummer" looks so sluggish I can't even take them seriously. Sting/Sean Paul-I couldn't bear listenign to that song. And I bet Sting isn't to happy playing it for the 5000th billion time. What the hell is the deal with Sean Paul anyways? Justin-The guy is a total tool as proven by his stupid acceptance speech, it looks like he took sum piano classes and now he can mimmick Keith Jarrett? The Arturo Sandoval spot was nice, I don't think Justin even realized who the hell he was playing with. Black Eye Peas: I guess the love is wearing designer clothes or figuring out that if ya get a hot looking chick you can be sucessful in the business. Good for them. Funk Jam: Randolph's band=TIGHT. George Clinton lost his coolness ever since he produced that crappy RHCP album. Foo Fighters/Corea: Here I was sitting, expecting Chick to count them into "Got a Match" and that didn't happen. Instead I got another sappy song that tried to turned into a rock song but that didn't happen either. Maybe it's just me but Dave looks like a young Tom Petty. And coincidentally he sounds just as uninspired! Not like I hate them or anything, but it would be more fitting if Mars Volta played with Chick, especially that "piano ballad" of theirs. Or hell how abuot Chick on Radiohead's "I Will", that would have been better. And how the hell can the Grammy voters deny Radiohead? That was BY FAR the best pick from that category. Morons. Sarah McLaughlan: I love her, but that wasn't really good. She seemed uninspired or just not interested in the performance itself, I kept waiting for a "release" but unfortunately it wasn't happening :( Outkast= That was "ok", I hate that song after more than 3 listens. The outro speech by the president of the Grammy's was a joke, the whole education thing was inspiring, but then he goes into the whole file sharing tirade and pretty much bombed himself. Dave looked all dressed up for the show, like he was actually trying to take things "seriously", whatever happened to the 16 yr old brat persona escapes me. Taylor isn't that bad of a drummer actually, he certainly looks quite sluggish behind the throne, I remember he used to play for Alanis' band and when he left Alanis's bassist recommended Gary Novak who at the time was playing with Chick's Akoustic Band to fill his spot, which was quite short lived since he left to pursue other projects. Hence the "conenction" of the performance itself. @darko= He's very bright actually. Maybe he just wanted a quicky at the glance of Amy Lee! No Aguilera didn't say that, but it was rather implied. Considering Linda Perry wrote pretty much both her record and Pink's previous MIZUNDERSTOOD or whatever the hell it's called.
