I don't take what they talk about as serious advice on how to deal with women. A lot of it is parody. It always was, but with Eminem, it became more obvious, because he cooked up an alter ego called Slim Shady, and talked about him like he was another person. |

| All rap is BS. It had made an image that they are "thug gangsters" inwhich it is a false image and rappers are getting gun down because of this crap. Atleast for Rock and Metal, they dont say anything thing about money, cars, gold, etc. Rappers do that and the fans like that? come on, I dont want to know where my money is going when I buy an album. For the slangs, why do we have them? all of them are baby talk and make them appear from another planet. anyway, to me; rappper sounds and is the same as other rappers and they are rip offs. Just take a listen to Trick daddy. you will hear an Ozzy song called crazy train in the background. If rappers has talnet, where is it? answer me that. |

Yeah, and that new song is just Magic Stick, like Jen said. Eminem only has 2 or 3 songs, and 50 has around the same.

Though, I tend to cringe when he does his more serious stuff. Especially "Cleaning Out My Closet"....god that song bugs me. Everyone seems to complain when angsty bands like Staind and Linkin Park or grunge bands from the early 90's whine, personally I think Eminem takes the "#1 poor me poor me artist" award. Anyway, yeah, even though I've never bought an Eminem album and don't actually listen to his music when I'm at home or in my car or with my friends listening to music, I'll give him credit for making some interesting songs.

| Heartless Bastard ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Granted, artists like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are known for producing songs that are explicitly insulting and demeaning to women. In this, I suppose they get the best of both worlds. For men who hate women, it answers a need for validation that they have. But for people like me, when you start examining the lyrics, and the context of the songs, we can appreciate the satirical aspects of that type of rap. There is much posturing and posing, and mocking of that position. Eminem kinda ruined the whole illusion, and lowered the satirical bar by actually pushing all of the mysoginistic, violent impulses of rap into a blatantly constructed third person ("Slim Shady"), which he then spoke about in the third person as much as the first. Thus, the elements of mockery in Eminem's rap is far more obvious than that of, for instance, Snoop Dogg, whose rap persona is, he expects you to believe, the same as its owner. I personally believe that satire works best when 1. There is nothing in it that makes it obvious what it is. 2. The objects of the satire (for example, in this case, misogynists) can't see what the joke is at all. |

| Elvis really helped rock out since during the birth of rock was around the racist years. The members of the Rat Pack also played a huge part of music as we know it. Black Americans did play a big role, but white Americans played a bigger part. Also, Rap was good before this Gangster crap. Run DMC did a good cover with an Aero Smith song and they did not rip it off. Today's rap is nothing, but a marketing idea. The only reason why Rappers fight with each other is for fame and money. I never bought that BS from them and one time that crap went to far. Two rappers died for a stupid reason. And, there are talks about M&M is going to get shot at. What kind of crap is that? All that rappers are nothing, but false Idoles. |

It's been said a hundred times before, but I'll say it again, there's tons of great hip hop out there right now, you just have to find it. Just like good rock music or any other kind of music for that matter.
