Ozzfest 2005

Blabbermouth is reporting that "informed sources" (read: still unconfirmed) tell them that BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN will headline the 10th anniversary edition of Ozzfest. In addition, ANTHRAX's "Among the Living" lineup — featuring vocalist Joey Belladonna, guitarist Dan Spitz and bassist Frank Bello — is said to have secured a slot on the main stage at the festival, which is expected to kick off in mid-July.

According to unconfirmed reports, the Ozzfest 2005 shows will start later than the previous 9:00 a.m. kick-off time and will include more non-rotating slots on the second stage.

Prior to headlining the 2005 edition of Ozzfest, BLACK SABBATH will embark on a short European tour, which will include an appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival (where they will headline the "Ozzfest" day on June 11).

No further mention was made of Megadeth who are also highly rumored to play the main stage this year.
Well it looks like so far it is going to be Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden headlining this event.....and just hearing those two bands is enough to get me to go for a third time to Ozzfest and now for a second year in a row....after having only had gone to the first one previously. They need less bands though and longer sets.

Either do i to be honest....the first year i went ot it... was still the best...but then it became very watered down and crappy. Last year i went because it was Black Sabbath, Slayer, and Dimmu Borgir. This year...hey Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath....worth it right there. I saw Maiden a few summers ago and it was such an awesome show.....and it was the first time i was able to see them....cant wait to see them again.

Does Black Label Society play at Ozzfest? I figure they would since Zakk is there playing for Ozzy already.

Word has it that BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and ROB ZOMBIE have both secured slots on the 10-year-anniversary edition of Ozzfest, with Zakk Wylde's troupe slated to kick off the proceedings on the main stage. Meanwhile, ZOMBIE, MUDVAYNE and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are said to be in the mix for the smaller second stage, which is expected to feature more non-rotating slots this summer compared to the last couple of years.

As previously reported, IRON MAIDEN are set to co-headline the entire event with BLACK SABBATH, although recent reports indicate that OZZY OSBOURNE (with Zakk Wylde on guitar) may attempt to stage a solo performance at this year's festival. Also expected to perform on the main stage is the "Among the Living" lineup of ANTHRAX, which has already been confirmed for three European festivals this spring/summer (Holland's Dynamo Open Air on May 7, Sweden's Sweden Rock on June 9-11 and Italy's Gods of Metal on June 11-12) prior to their appearance at Ozzfest.

Black Label and Rob would be the best, to bad the Ozzfest doesnt get alot of decent bands; Super Joint, Pantera, Slayer and Rob and Black Label are the best i've heard from the Ozzfest over the years
