| Shabadoo! Click here for the videos. Yes, he is AMAZING! And I have a feeling the only people who care would be me and Darko. Maybe Captain Beefheart, if he still snoops around here. If you don't know what to choose, I recommend at least watching the one with John Mc Laughlin and Al Di Meola playing "Short Tales Of The Black Forest". Over 14 minutes of incredible acousticness. And...well, when you add DiMeola in the mix only good things can happen. The Mahavishnu stuff is good too. Actually, it's all good! |

| Yeah, nice videos. I don't like his playing. He's got technique but no taste, and he's not very good melodically really. Empty technique doesn't get you anywhere. He's actually a lot better nowadays. I saw him at ronnie scott's and he was way more chilled out. He destroyed Live-evil. Live-evil is the only recording ever of Miles Davis with Keith Jarrett, and Mclaughlin just plays absolute **** over the top so you can't hear anything. Friday Night in San Francisco was good for about five minutes and then you just get a blue note overload and it all sounds the same. Just running up and down scales is lame. And the Mahavishnu orchestra is just tacky really. It's dated. It sounds like 70s horror film music [ February 13, 2005, 12:48 AM: Message edited by: moshe ] |
