Band Question

I caught the movie "Alone In The Dark" and I'm one of those silly bastards that hangs around to hear the songs on the ending credits. The band Nightwish did the title song.
I was wondering if anybody could tell me about them. How long they have been around, how many albums they have out. I'm already bracing for the resounding "THEY SUCK" but I hope at least one person will answer in the desired manner.

Nightwish is the best band in the world.

Although their decision in using "I Wish I Had An Angel" in a Uwe Boll film is so :mad: . Not to mention he directed their video for it.

Nightwish are from Finnland. They broke out into the US not too long ago on MTV2's HeadBanger's Ball and yeah. Their most recent cd "Once" is (in my opinion) not the best one that's out there. It's less operatic and well...too commercialized? I don't know how else to explain it. Although I do enjoy Nemo. The rest is just soso.

I might be missing some I can't remember. But they have been around for quite awhile.

I'm still sad that they chose to work with Uwe Boll though.

and Tarja Turunen is the best singer in the world.

i like nightwish's guitar riffs, but to me are ruined by the rest, it seemed funny that a band my friends been obsessed with for years broke out but they signed to roadrunner records so shame to them and every gay band on that label
