Tupac is dead. He knew he was going to die because he lived a foolish, arrogant, childish existance and people were after him because of it. That is the reason he recorded under the moniker of "Makaveli" and had "prophesies" of his own death in his music and videos. They weren't prophesies, he was being threatened by dangerous people and made the realistic assumption that he was going to get shot again.
