| I'm trying to very hard to understand. It makes me feel alienated from the public when there is an artist that has 5 songs in the top 10 and I can't stand one of them. No one has accomplished this feat since The Beatles. THE BEATLES! THE ARCHITECTS! I don't get the appeal of 50 Cent at all. Now, I don't like Britney Spears, but I can comprehend her appeal. Her tunes are catchy and she's nice looking and all that. Even Nelly, I get Nelly, I don't like Nelly, but he has a nice sounding flow and some good hooks. But 50 Cent has made the same song over and over again and the hooks are crap and his flow is a complete monotone. Even the production is boring and dreary sounding. There is nothing redeamable about any of his singles. So, can someone please explain to me what I am missing. Is it good marketing? Do people find him attractive? Is there something about his music that is "good" that I'm just not getting? Am I completely out of touch??? |

| Nah, I completely get the appeal of Eminem. The guy is amazing at phrasing rhymes and has created an interesting and relevent pop culture image for himself. If you don't like Eminem, that's one thing, I'm not that into him myself, I don't own any of his albums, but to not understand why he is as big as he is you have to be pretty blinded by dislike of him. 50 Cent has nothing. Only that he was shot 5 times. That's what the entirety of his career is based on. I knew he was shot 5 times before I heard any of his music. AND ALL OF HIS SINGLES SOUND THE FRICKIN SAME. Now, you can't say that about Eminem. |

| I agree, 50 cent is so monotone. I think what happened is people got caught in the hype and it sucked everyone into thinking he was great and not understanding why. Listening to his songs I can't see why he's great except perhaps in his lyrics.. although his voice is very blah. At least Ludacris has a sound to him |

Secondly, I understand the appeal of Eminem, but I don't understand how it hasn't worn off completely since he only has 3-4 songs. Don't people notice this? I can't wait to hear another song where he complains about getting no respect. He's not Rodney Dangerfield, and when it comes to acting like a jackass, he's not Weird Al, either. Thirdly, 50 Cent is monotone and writes corny lines. Something about birthdays and teapots. C'mon, anyone else would have been called a wuss by now.

| God, I'm trying not to get extremely angry at you guys... 50 cent has a mad flow, his sh*t is real unlike some other wanksters (Ja Rule, Jada Kiss, Fat Joe, all The INC ppl, etc, etc anyone associated with them). 50 has been through so much sh*t... he's an awesome rapper... he's got over 10 million followers, can that be wrong? It could be... but explain why he's owning the charts then? |

| because you fell for the hype. Everyone that likes to admit the truth will tell you he's monotone. The guy can't sing worth ****. At least when Eminem raps you can get a sense of feeling in his music. When 50 does.. it's like he's on prozac. Don't believe me? Listen to Hate it or Love it. A song that should scream out tone and feeling and he's falling asleep. Not to say that the song is bad but he has to get other people on there to rap just to show feeling. When his verses end and the next guy comes up, you can tell who can rap. Look at Candy Shop.. Everything he does is monotone. Give me some ****ing words that have feeling to it. What his rap shows me is that if you can hype up a person large enough, people will listen and be fooled. Sad but true |

Of course, he doesn't have better flow than any decent rapper out there. That's down to marketing and the music people on MTV and other media who just nod their heads. Who wants to be the only critic or VJ who criticizes 50 Cent? He'd be alone, because everyone else is nodding their heads in agreement like zombies while you're shaking your head in disagreement. I mean, I know record companies buy up units of an artists album to push it to the top of the charts for publicity. But can they be buying that many?

| 50Cent, The Game and all those HipHop "stars" suck. I hate this music!!! I know several persons who listen to that music, but often they aren't sophisticated like me! (hehe) No, in fact, most rappers have sexistic, superficial and stupid lyrics. Like: I take you to the candy shop I'll let you lick the lollypop Go 'head girl, don't you stop Keep goin 'til you hit the spot BULL$HIT!!! |
