| Ben Affleck Charges Dropped Charges against actor Ben Affleck have been dropped after no evidence could be found that he threatened to kill a woman who claims she is his girlfriend. A warrant was issued for the star's arrest on Saturday after Tara Ray, who claims she has been in a relationship with Affleck since February last year, accused him of threatening her during a phone conversation last month. She also claims that later he followed her to her North Carolina home. But New Hanover County District Attorney John Carriker has dismissed the warrant after police failed to contact Ray, or prove the incident took place. John Carriker says, "This is a very good example of why people shouldn't be able to take out a warrant without any kind of police investigation." Ben Affleck's representative insists the actor was at his Georgia home at the time. source _________________________________ Russell Crowe threatens to boycott premiere of new movie Russell Crowe has reportedly threatened to boycott the British premiere of his new movie "Master And Commander : Far Side Of The World", if a new TV documentary on him upsets him. The 39 year old New Zealander, is keenly awaiting the outcome of Russell Crowe's Greatest Fights, which is due to be screened on British network Channel 4 - and if he doesn't like what he sees, he has vowed to snub the November 17 London premiere of Master And Commander. A documentary source says, "it is a mischievous biographical documentary." An insider adds, "It is about his violent streak." Producers of the film have reportedly advised their advertising and marketing teams not to include either of the stars' faces on any of Jersey Girl's promotional material after seeing the dismal performance of the on-off couple's summer flop Gigli. A source tells American magazine Us Weekly, "After Gigli, (Miramax) doesn't want to take any chances with another laughing stock flop. They're going to promote this as a (director) Kevin Smith movie. It's going to be about Kevin." source ___________________________________ Arnold Schwarzenegger Pays Tribute to Wife Maria Shriver Newly-elected Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger paid an emotional tribute to his wife Maria Shriver whilst celebrating winning yesterday's recall election. The Terminator star - who triumphed despite a number of reports of sexual misconduct - kissed Maria three times after crediting her for helping him win votes. He told Shriver, "I know how many votes I got today because of you." Shriver temporarily left her job at NBC's Dateline program in order to assist her Austrian-born husband on the campaign trail. In a television interview in September she said of Arnold, "He's one of the most gracious, supportive, open-minded men I have ever met. I've known him since I was 21 years old, and I know I would not be where I am today in my career, as a woman, without his support." source |
