Orlando Bloom‘s meteoric rise to stardom is showing no signs of slowing as yet another top–flight director – this time, Germany‘s Tom Tykwer – has declared he‘s after the star of "Pirates of the Caribbean" to topline his new pic. But Orlando should prepare himself for a far darker movie than his previous efforts if he agrees to work with Tykwer. The director of "Heaven" and "Lola Runs" is after Bloom to play the lead role in an 18th–century thriller called "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer." Originally intended as a directorial vehicle for Ridley Scott, the movie chronicles the life of a French man born with no smell at all who develops a near super–human olfactory sense as he matures and uses it to create remarkable perfumes.
