It’s been a big day for speculation on Marvel’s upcoming Thor solo film. Earlier today some sites started circulating the wild rumor that an actor named Alexander Skarsgard may be up for the role. Now there’s more rumor to add into the mix.

IESB says that Channing Tatum may also be up for the movie’s blonde, buff, lead though even they believe Alexander would be director Kenneth Branagh’s preference.

They’re also taking a stab at who may play the movie’s villain, Loki the God of Mischief. They say Josh Hartnett has met with Kenneth about the role and is on the director’s short list to play the godly bad guy.

For now it’s all wild rumor and half-cocked speculation. Don’t start those stop Josh Hartnett web petitions just yet.

LOL ..I would say that he would not be interested BUIT!!!! times are tough. he may need the monet. Plus He could play an awsome Bad Guy

Well the movie is bhy Branagh...it's probably a great opportunity, and i love Alexander in True Blood. TBH it'd be great to see Josh as a baddie...it'll make him hotter

I love Kenneth Branagh and his work so if Josh gets to work with him then the role is less important. I'm not a comic book fan but could be cool... I don't buy the idea Josh only wants the role because of the success Heath Ledger had with the Joker. Also, "his first role as villain"? Iago anyone!? Only one of the greatest literary villains!

I agree. But as a comic book fan ... lol. Marvel now has complete control. That is why the movies of gaphic novels and Blockbusters such as IRONMAN were such a smash. I would say thats why Ed Norton took the role of the Hulk.
But its just speculation at this point.

Still not sure if l consider him a 'baddie' in that film.... just see it as revenge. And not the same as an out and out 'baddie'. IMO x

Loved his look when he said "Bad dog" watched that many times over

and was lucky enough to see something very much like it during Rainman x

well, actually you are right about the revenge and I was so with him in that movie when he took all that revenge to those people who killed his mum and dad.

can not remember what scene.... but know that when l saw it l was like
"YES!!! l can tick that off my wish list!"
It was probably when he first heard about the will, or at the end, when the 2 guys were taking his brother from him.
It didn't happen everytime l watched it, but l was well pleased to have seen it myself for real....!! as l said, it was on my wish list

ohh must have been great to see that face. same as seeing tears rolling down his cheek. I haven´t seen any of that

just his grin when he had to fight to not also burst into laughter in one scene near the end when i was there, and the whole audience was laughing about Adam/Raymond

Loki will probably be played by Hartnett, if his pay negotiations work out. All the commentary about him wanting to do a Ledger and play a villain is B.S. though – WE APPROACHED HARTNETT because Branagh’s a big fan of the Othello adaptation O where Hartnett played Iago who is very similar character wise to how he sees Loki.

Which is pretty much what I said about the Heath connection being BS and Josh as Iago... so cool that Branagh apparently liked Josh in 'O'!
