EVA MENDES may have checked herself into rehab in January (08) to prepare for a new movie, in which she plays a Spanish drug lord.
The 30-year-old actress entered Utah's Cirque Lodge to "proactively" attend "to some personal issues", her representative explained at the time.
The move shocked Hollywood, until Mendes landed a role alongside Josh Hartnett and Sir Ben Kingsley in Queen of the South, which follows her character Teresa Mendoza, who flees Mexico for Spain when her drug-runner boyfriend is murdered.
Gossips are speculating she may have been researching the role in rehab - a theory backed by leading acting coach John Kirby.
He tells Star magazine, "It's not unusual at all for an actor or actress to go to the extreme of checking into rehab to prepare for a character.
"In fact, I would encourage that for my students, because you want to fully immerse yourself in the role."

hmm, i don´t know her or if she had a problem for real to go there, but why not doing that, going there to prepare. I mean Josh tried living without sex for a while for 40/40, he went to boot camp. so why shouldn´t someone go to rehab to research for the role.
but I don´t know her personal problems, so don´t know why she was there.

After reading The Rum Diary (which I loved anyway) and The End Zone (which I didn't very much), I'm waiting until Queen of the South is actually in production and shooting has started.

I'll wait for the film anyway, as l don't want to know the ending before l watch it.

Going to see 'sex in the city' with girl friends next week, has anyone else seen it. I have not watched any of the t.v shows, so not sure if l'll know whats going on???

would also like to see sex in the city,maybe sunday- i watched all the shows, pretty addicting!

I haven't seen any of them though, so l'm not sure if l'll follow what is happening. I loved 'Friends' and l still sort of watch 'Lost' but thats it. l know how addictive they can become!!
