While my hubby is away working I'm going down to Blockbuster & hire some Josh movies. I've tried to buy them in retail places but they never have any Josh DVD's. Living in the country has its dissadvantages

oh that really sucks. well sometimes you have luck with movies here in Berlin, to get them as import, but then you pay like double.
LNS woudl have cost as UK import 37.99€ there, and I paid not even 20€ in teh end. Don´t know how much it was.

I dont know if that expensive or not in AUS$? Your money is worth more than ours.
I also have to rely on postal to get DVD's too but by the time they arrive to the country the actual movie would been released for sale & I wouldve saved on postage. I go to the city occasionally & stock up then. Hows your DVD collection? Big? Huge?

Check your DVD, most new ones are region free. Also, maybe someone more computer literate can confirm, does it matter if you play the DVD on your pc?

well I don´t have a DVD player in my computer and I gess I would be able to see it only interrupting, cause my computer seems too slow.
and on those DVDs that I have there is still a country code, even on teh new ones

Kers in my dvd and my parent's all dvd-s are working ( even from USA) and I think that in your DVD player should they work too.
But I understand that you want to have this movie in german langaues version.
Sometimes when I watch orginal movies I don't understand evrything and from this reason I prefer to have also polish languages version.

well if they have a region code they have a region code, and that means that you may have trouble to watch them on your dvd player

well actually I DON`T want to watch it in german, cause the german sychronisation is sh*t, they ruin a whole movie.
I watch them, if at all, only ONCE in german, but not regularly. LNS, and MATW I both watched in englisch first, and I understood them completely. when I watched them in german, I was shocked about how bad they spoke them. ruins the whole movie

Ok understand. For luck most film with polish languaes version has also subtitles. And If i'll understand something I always can check this.
By the way I understnad that german dubbing ruins whole movie. For luck in Poland most films hasn't dubbing.

well, some are bad, some are good, but I always prefer watching then in english, they can´t show the emotions as good as the actor did.
and I never watch something with subtitles. cause then you automatically check it all teh time, if you want or not.
and I don´t need them actually. you don´t have to understand every word to understand what the person is saying.

I know but sometimes I like to know what it exactly means. Evin If I'll read english books I use from dictionary and in special notebook I am writting new worlds for me and in this way I remeber them later. It's my way to know new english words.

I read an english book at school without using a dictionary just once. I saw classmates doing that and looked up every word and haven´t understood anything about the story. those who didn´t check the dictionary right after every word, have understood the story

I understand all story but after I read most piece of story I check this words that I don't understand. And in this way I am learning new words.
Everyone has own way to learn another languages.

That is true about the codes. I worked in an electrical store for a few months & rep's came from all sorts of companies like Sony & LG & they even told us that certain countries have to have certain codes for DVD's eg Thailand DVD's have different codes to Aust, & so, on to prevent pirated copies & general areas codes for their company.
I reckon if you did purchase DVD's from selected retailers they automatically give you the appropraite one for your country.
