Formal unveiling of the Cannes lineup is on April 23.

Whether a Pinoy film makes it or not, the country is sure to get noticed in the fest because a foreign film shot in the Philippines is reportedly assured a spot.

Joanne Bañaga, who worked as line producer in Vietnamese filmmaker Tran Anh Hung’s “I Come With the Rain,” said that the movie, partly shot in Mindanao, is a shoo-in.

Set in a mining village in Mount Diwalwal, the movie top-bills three international superstars: Hollywood’s Josh Hartnett, Korea’s Byung-hun Lee and Japan’s Takuya Kimura.

Bañaga said a Pinoy jukebox song, Bing Rodrigo’s “Gintong Araw,” is featured prominently in the soundtrack.

“When I translated the song’s lyrics for the director, he fell in love with it,” said Bañaga. “He liked the idea that it’s entitled ‘Golden Sun.’ He also loved the melody.”

Radiohead の楽曲が使用されているフランス映画「アイ・カム・ウィズ・ザ・レイン」（監督：Anh Hung Tran）が、世界に先駆け6月6日に日本公開されることが決まったそうです。
出演者はイ・ビョンホン、木村拓哉、ジョシュ・ハートネットetc...。
映画自体はすでに昨年から話題になっていたようですが....。
映画の予告でも"Climbing Up The Walls"が使用されています。
