| Hartnett's Russian fan ![]() ![]() | I'm sorry if I spoil all this happy thread... I DON'T LIKE SAM ROSEN, because I think that he uses his friendship with Josh to raise his career. - only Rosen is the only person who obviously likes paparazzi's attention inspite of the fact that they take pictures of Hartnett, not him. - he makes meetings at Josh's house with potential investors. Is he homeless??? ![]() It's not only my opinion ![]() |

Don't you think Josh may have know other actors before he got his big break? Like, maybe from being in school plays and his involvement in local theater? Sam and Josh both grew up in Minnesota and knew each other before Josh was famous, so I doubt he's using Josh. And, what makes you so sure Sam enjoys attention from Paparazzi? Regarding the fundraiser... Sam lives in New York and I'm willing to bet Josh lets friends and family stay in his house while they're in town - his house probably sits empty a lot of the time anyway. Sam is trying to raise money for a movie to be filmed in Minneapolis, so it only makes sense to look here for investors. Especially when the likes of Bill Pohlad, producer of Brokeback Mountain, lives in town and is building a house in Josh's neighborhood. It is generous of Josh to offer up his house to host the function there - he has a nice sized house in a nice location. It is much smarter of Sam to make use of a friend's home than wasting money renting a banquet hall or hosting at his place in NY, which I imagine is a shoebox-sized apartment, as NY residences tend to be! Anyway, just give Sam a chance. He's a fantastic actor, a good looker and he's a friend of Josh's. How bad can he be? Last edited by mplsgirl : 01-04-2008 at 12:38 AM. | |

I never loved and believed in that. |

JOSH HARTNETT IS WAITING for a plane. Rob Perez knows this because he’s currently sitting in the 331 Club, a hipster hangout in northeast Minneapolis, ignoring Hartnett’s text messages from JFK airport in New York. “He’s bored,” Perez says, glancing down at his phone. Perez, a 35-year-old Hollywood writer and director, scripted one of Hartnett’s breakout movies, the romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights, and checks on his good friend’s empty Lake of the Isles home. The house has played a supporting role in Perez’s current project, a film called Nobody, as it’s been the site of a funding party. Nobody, which is budgeted at a modest $1 million, will be a Christine Walker production, but Perez has taken it upon himself to pass the hat. To this end, he’s recruited a somewhat comical threesome to introduce him to potential local funders: Minneapolis mayor R. T. Rybak, former St. Paul mayor George Latimer, and sports broadcaster Mark Rosen. One of the picture’s first backers, Perez’s uncle and former Clinton cabinet member Henry Cisneros, introduced Perez to the two politicos. And Rosen is the cousin of Nobody’s star: former Twin Cities actor and current Hollywood comer Sam Rosen. “The locations are going to be great,” Perez says, as if warming up for his big pitch. The Minneapolis College of Art and Design, he says, is already lined up for shooting. “That’s one of the reasons we’re here. This town hasn’t been shot in a long time and I’m excited to rediscover it.” That said, Perez isn’t sure that he will have a future in Minneapolis after Nobody wraps. His quandary could be that of the film industry at large. “This is sort of a litmus test,” he says. “Can I do what I do here? Can I make movies and tell stories...? This town seems like it has resources to do that. And if I can, I’ll stay.” Source. Josh and Sam are such great friends! |
