“August” This film, which your City Room reporter previewed before the New Year, periscopes into the life of the chief executive of a Silicon Alley dot-bomb in August 2001. It is a movie about hubris, both that of the C.E.O., played by Josh Hartnett, and the United States in the weeks before Sept. 11. There is one shot in which Mr. Hartnett wakes up woozy from a chemically enhanced night at the then-newly opened Bungalow 8, then is shown on the street against the backdrop of the World Trade Center. August has many of the little touches of the era right. There is a cameo by Jason Calacaniss, the Silicon Alley magazine founder, who seemed to be everywhere in those days. The employees at the doomed company compulsively check a Web site with an unprintable name that covers imploding start-ups, their impending layoffs and their large burn rates.

“One of the things that struck me when I got the script was that it captured that time period, when it was such a specific moment in our recent history,” said Austin Chick, the director, who had friends who were in involved in the Silicon Alley craze. ”The dot-com bubble had already burst in March of 2000 and continued to plummet through that summer. It had been crashing for a while, yet there was still this strange sense that it was going to turn around.”

“It was this really surreal time that somehow seemed to be lasting longer that it deserved and then 9/11 happened and everything changed,” said Mr. Chick, whose first Sundance film, “XX/XY,” played just months after Sept. 11 in 2002. “It is a period of our history that hasn’t been examined because the events of 9/11 overshadowed that.”

I like the sound of this;
There is one shot in which Mr. Hartnett wakes up woozy from a chemically enhanced night at the then-newly opened Bungalow 8

Hella yes! Fierce RPO, love it!

Was there any comment about the picture or the film itself?

Yes it was Here it is :
"A look at the decadent dot.com world of pre-9/11 New York. Adam Scott is great, the music is fantastic, and Josh Hartnett doesn't suck either."
-- Austin Chick, director of "August"
