I understand, l really do.
But you were so upset kers that the DVD was out so soon after the film release. I belive its because of the illigal downloads, that you have got. And that has really suprised me.
The film would be in the cinema longer, if these downloads were not available.

Ok, so you got it from a friend, but the fact is they down loaded it, you want it, and this will carry on..... wont it?
And you'll have to understand that that is why Josh's films are not given the time at the cinema that he deserves.

But back to the point it really is a shame that August doesn't get more time in cinemas or gets a wider distribution.
I really think though that there needs to be something done like maybe allow something like itunes to let you download movies when they're out in theatres but you just get to keep the file for 24hrs. Well I know there would be those who still will be tempted to not pay and download illegally, but it would be like a virtual cinema at home...
I don't know, I'm just blabbing on, it's just things I've been thinking about!

thats´what annoys me the most, that most of Josh´s movies don´t get the chance to make it on the big screen out of the states. I bet that there would always be people who would like to see his movies.

actually, when I see what kind of crap they show in the theatres here, I really don´t understand. It´s real nonsense sometimes, but those make it to the theatres but not really great movies. I don´t get that.

I belive it is, and all films are on DVD earlier now. Years ago you had to wait ages! In my opion its that very reason.

Ok maybe not in Germany, but in the US, why do you think that Josh's film will not be at the cimema for as long as we think it should be, if its not because of down loads?

I’m sorry but I think you all are little harsh to judge people who are downloading. In a way you are all downloading.. like all the pictures of Josh (they have to come from somewhere) Second, I think it’s not really fair to say we are the one who are the reason that Josh’s movies aren’t released in theatre. It can have several reasons and one of them is the price of a theatre ticked. People rather wait for the DVD to watch then go to the theatre and honestly I can’t blame them.
In the Netherlands downloading is not illegal, only uploading. Nor is it illegal to "own" copied material and it is only illegal to sell, give away or otherwise redistribute copyrighted material where you do not have permission to do so.
BTW you don’t have to download the movie to watch it… http://www.watch-movies.net/ is a site who gives you the opportunity to watch the movie online (like youtube)

I think the rise of downloading must have had some impact on the reduced time from cinema release to DVD release. Back in the day you either went to see a film at the theatre or waited 5 or 6 years before it was shown on tv but times have changed and like Joshfan said (sorry, forgot your real name) something needs to be done to take into account the new technology.
One more thing; pirate DVDs are known to be part of money making/laundering schemes used by organised crime.
