At the end there is the old question if he´s a San Francisco native (born there) and he said it´s wrong (what else should he say!) but then he said that his mother lived there a lot of his life and that he "growed out there a lot".
Which mother? I thought his parents get divorced when he was young and his natural mother lives in San Francisco. Okay! But what about his step-mother? Of what mother is he talking about! Or is the story about the divorce just another rumour in public??
Does anyone know exactly more about that story?????

This is only what I've heard. True or not is anyone's guess.
He was borned in St. Paul. His birth mother lives in San Francisco.
And he was actually conceived after his parents split up. How that all fits together...Again, anyone's guess.

And what´s up with his siblings??? That are all his natural real siblings, no half-siblings or step-siblings! he once said that his younger brothet jake has the same beautymark as he has on his neck! And it is said, and I thought to remember that he said, that he was young when his parents get divorced! So he had to be alive at that moment.

I don´t know! It´s very weird!
But maybe someone else does know anything about it or has an idea!!!

Ok, I'll try to explain. And Kate, correct me if I'm wrong. Well, here Josh is trying to explain it in an interview:

"My real mum I don’t know that well," he says with surprising frankness. "They got divorced before I was even conceived. Go figure." I look confused. "They were married before I was born, then split up, then got back together, then split again," he explains. Do they keep in touch? "Yeah, I talk to her," he says. She’s "pretty amazed" by what he’s doing."

So, what I got from this is that in St. Paul, Josh's father Daniel and birth mother Janice married, divorced, got back together (did not remarry), conceived Josh, not sure if Josh was born before or after they split up again. Then Janice moved to San Francisco and Daniel got custody of Josh (don't know how old Josh was, a baby, I think). Ok, Then Daniel married Molly (Josh's step mother) when Josh was very young and Josh has 3 younger half siblings (a half sister (Jessica) and 2 half brothers (Jake and Joe). Daniel and Molly raised Josh and he has said that he thinks of Molly as his mom and calls her mom and that she thinks of him as her son.

That sounds like what I'd heard. That sounds pretty much on the money to me. Let's see what Kate says.

Thanks Mel, that's pretty much what I heard too... although I didn't know his birth parents had split up before he was born but either way I believe he and his brothers and sister share the same father but not the same mother.

And did you have a link to that interview? I'm sure I've seen it (I did think it was in Flaunt) but can't find it now.

Yeah. I heard Josh say in an old interview that he was conceived after his parents were already divorced but had gotten back together briefly (obviously!). So he was pretty much born out of wedlock. I also have heard Josh himself agree that he was born in San Francisco. So, who knows.

I'm sure there had to be issues with his mother because I would have rather died than be away from my babies. Maybe that's why Josh is not close to her.

Family dynamics. They can be so complicated sometimes.

I also don't know if Josh's dad and Janice split up before or after Josh was born and I also should say that I don't know for sure that Josh's dad got custody, I just assumed. I think the confusion comes in, when in interviews and in print, Josh talks about his parents and his mom and dad, he is talking about Daniel and Molly, because they're who raised him. Some people get that confused.

This subject comes out in the forum every now and then, that's why I save this article. All this was explained in interviews back when Pearl Harbor came out, but most of that stuff is not out there anymore, and there are so many new fans out there now!

Well said, Olive... I don't think any of us 'moms' can imagine what that must have been like. And thanks for the interview, Mel... it's always good to read those old articles. Funny how even back then he was trying to shed the "hunky heartthrob" tag.

I checked out all the interviews and articles of Josh of the last years! Everywhere is written "his siblings" not half-siblings!
In one article there is written that he and his siblings raised at his dad after divorce!
But when I´m reading the article above and really think about it I more believe that!
I mean that would explain why there are seven years between josh and his sister Jessica! Daniel and Janice wouldn´t stay together for ten or eleven years to get four children and THEN split up, right?
So that meant that Josh is the child out of the first wedlock, right? And his sibling are the children of Daniel and Molly!
Gosh, I try to imagine what he had going through in his very early childhood! I mean every child will be sad when it losts its mum, won´t it?
Poor Josh!

But very good to see that he is very happy now with the family he has and he always says that his family is the best in the world!
So Lucky Guy!!!

BTW, does meant that Molly has adopted him! She has to, right?

I can't say I know personally but I imagine if you grew up with half siblings all your life and you lived as a family then you probably refer to them as your brothers and sisters rather than the more correct half-brothers and half-sisters, which might explain the confusion.
And the fact Josh is said not to look much like his siblings also confirms this.

Where do you find that quote of him? It´s new to me.
I´ve always heard that his brother Jake looks a lot like him.
Did he said that in a video interview? If you know the link to that (interview or video) can you post it here? I´m very interested in that!

I have only seen a picture of Josh's dad and his sister. From what I recall, his sister looks absolutely nothing like Josh.
