Point Hope and Wainwright are North of where I live. Ft. Wainwright is in Fairbanks and is NOT the same as Wainwright, Alaska. In the movie, they were referring to Wainwright.

It's alright. Seward and Anchorage are alot of fun but I'm not a fan of Fairbanks. Summers are beautiful..winters suck.

I miss my family and friends and can't wait to head back in December.

oh how warm does it get at summer?
and how is the darkness over there at winter? I read it´s actually around 60 days of darkness, but not really as dark as in the movie

Well, temps vary across the state.What we have here in Fairbanks is different from other parts. It is 34 degrees currently and around june-august it can get up to the uppers 80's and we do get thundershowers from time to time.

Winters here in the interior are bitterly cold. We can get down to -60 but the coldest I have felt is -52. We never have total darkness here. In december, we usually get around 2-3 hours of light. Normally light around 11am and dark by 2-3.
