T, go to User CP (Control Panel) ,top of the screen, click Edit Options and at the bottom at Miscellaneous Options change to Stanard Editor.

Hope that helps, then you can get clickable smilies and codes to post pics/links etc.

Thanks much Kate. I'll do that. I've been using quick reply pretty successfully so far and I got lucky with one smilie purely by accident.

Smilies are only accessible on the Post A Reply form, not quick reply.

You can change avatars and sigs in User CP (top of the screen). The Control Panel has a Settings and Options menu to help you.

If your display name and login name aren't the same you can edit them in Control Panel, Edit Profile.

Yea thanks, i worked that out, but how do i make my avatar one from a URL and not the ones they offer here?

In "Edit Avatar" there's a custom avatar option at the bottom...

here's the blurb:

You may upload a new custom image using the controls below. Either enter the URL to the image you wish to use, or use the upload control to upload an image directly from your own computer.

I'm not sure why, you're logged in, so it should work.

What happened to the old forum? This one is awful! It's so hard to read.

It's called progress.... it's taking me a while to get used to it, so I hope you stick around.

And who said progress was a "good" thing, especially when you're old like me. LOL. It says that the last date I visited the forum was 12-31-1969! Haha. I was a teenager and Josh was not even born yet. (I need a "laugh" icon desperately.)

Why does it randomly underline some of my words?

It appears that we are no longer allowed to start a new thread! I don't even see a place to do anything but reply to thread that already exists.

Olive, not on this page, but on the main Josh page, at the top, look for "Forum Tools". There is a drop down menu where you can post a new thread. Took me a while to find it!! Melanie
