I wondered what some of the non English people here thought of Josh's accent in Blow Dry?
I thought he did really well. I'm English and I doubt I could do a convincing Yorkshire accent!

I totally agree. To me it seemed like he did a pretty good job with it. Made me really think it was real.

I was really impressed. He didn't let his american accent slip through not even once!

It was really distracting though... I found it ammusing (not in a bad way)

It was very impressing. I couldn't believe that he was speaking with an accent. Which I wouldn't mind if he used it on me.

I wasn´t aware of his English accent, I´m Spanish but if I have to compare Beckham´s accent with Josh´s one in Blow Dry, I´d say they are far from being equal. (I´m obviously kidding ;) )

Josh ain't supposed to sound like David Beckham. David Beckham's got a goofy voice in my opinion.

I haven't seen the movie, like Chris, only the trailer.

I heard there are many different kinds of British accents, was he imitating the Yorkshire one?

I'm not a native English speaker. Josh's accent in Blow Dry is a little weird to me----I didn't know it's from Yorkshire but I could tell it's not the common British accent as soon as I heard it. And the "a(rising tone)" at the end of almost every sentence is funny(no offence here).

I guess for an English person, it's as easy to spot an American doing and English accent as it is for an American to spot and English person doing an American one.
If you're English the Yorkshire accent is very distinctive so he must have had some voice coaching.
David Beckham has a southern accent and Yorkshire is in the north so they should be very different.
I thought it was really cute!

You can defenitely tell when someone is not from a certain place from their accent.

I thought Josh's accent sounded real and I'm from england. Except I live in the south and if I lived in the north then maybe I'd have a different opinion.

I'm afraid to say in this case, very easy. :( Speaking as someone from near that part of England, Josh's Yorkshire accent wasn't very consistent but in his defence, maybe he should have been given better voice coaching and at least he tried, not like Rachael Leigh Cook.

Yeah, I know, that's my point... maybe she just couldn't do an English accent, that's why her character had been away to the US.

OK, maybe not but I'm just trying to defend Josh.
