| Love Charlie Babbit ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From an imdb poster, after a test screening... " I was in the first non-studio test audience screening tonight, and the movie was fantastic. When I got the email invite, the mention of Asperger's immediately intrigued me, because my mother works with autistic children (Asperger's is generally considered another name for high functioning autism, or Autistic Spectrum Disorder), and I have a long-standing interest in the subject myself. But Josh Hartnett as the lead made me skeptical, to say the least. "40 Days and 40 Nights" may have been amusing, but it definately wasn't quality cinema. Let me tell you, I was floored. Astonished. The movie was amazing, and Josh Hartnett completely blew me away. Everything, down to the way he walked, the way he moved his hands when he was anxious, and the way he avoided eye contact, was true to the part he was playing, yet was played very naturally. Radha Mitchell is not quite so impressive, and she plays her part with less subtlety, but she certainly didn't take away from the movie. My only real complaint is the soundtrack....the first two songs were both from "Garden State" (the song played during the titles of "Mozart and the Whale" was "Let Go" by Frou Frou, which is played during the trailers of "Garden State," as well as at its end and over the credits), which was peculiar, to say the least, and neither song fit very well into this movie. BUT the studio exec did say that the soundtrack was still being worked on, so hopefully it will be fixed by the time the movie is actually released. By the way, there's a reason for the title, and I think it's wonderful, but I'll leave it a mystery" How cool! | woo hoo! Actually from the trailer it looked like he was playing the part well, although I have to say the bit I saw with Radha Mitchell didn't look very convincing. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie (and Josh looks so cute in the whale costume!!) |

| I know it's not a very reliable source, but IMDB lists the USA release date for MatW as 3/25/05. I hope this is correct. Even is it is, though, that's still 5 months before we see Josh on the big screen again. We just don't see enough of Josh. :( Not enough to quench my "Josh thirst" anyway! |
