Depp to carry out Brando's last wish

Johnny Depp wants to put Hollywood on hold so he can live out the dying wish of late movie icon Marlon Brando by playing Hamlet in a theatre production.

Brando warned The Pirates of the Caribbean star that one his biggest regrets was missing out on the William Shakespeare play because he had grown too old by the time he felt ready for the challenging part.

"Marlon wanted me to escape movies for a while," said Depp. "So it's one of the things that keep ricocheting around in my head.

"He told me that by the time he had got to the point where he felt he could do Hamlet, it was too late. So he said: 'Do it now, do it while you can.'

"And I would like to do it - although it's one of the more frightening ideas I've had. I think as an actor it is good to feel the fear of failing miserably.

"I think you should take that risk. Fear is a necessary ingredient in everything I do."

I would love for this to be a movie instead of a play so everyone would get a chance to see it. If, on the other hand, it is going to take place at Hamlet's home, Kronborg castle in Helsingør, Denmark, you can bet your ass I'll be there for every show.

*shakes head in a "stop dreaming, dammit!" kind of way*... Anyways, I think this is really interesting. Also, I do think Johnny is too old to be Hamlet. He could pull it off, of course, if he wanted to.

Yeah...doesn't look good.
But then again, Ethan Hawke was 30 when he was Hamlet in "Hamlet" (2000). He's from 1970. Johnny's from 1963, so that'll make him...hm, 43 this year.

Hell yes! He is very hot as Jack. I think also it's the way he acts. It makes him so lovable!

I LOVED his Don Juan DeMarco look also! And Chocolat. The long hair is so me...

Don Marco is actually a good movie to, I think.
He definately looks good with long hair.
