If the thread is popular maybe we'll get the forum back. This topic will contain spoilers of the episodes that have aired in the United States of America!!!! The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester Brothers continues with the second season of SUPERNATURAL on The CW. Twenty-two years ago, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki, "Gilmore Girls," "House of Wax") and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles, "Smallville," "Dark Angel") lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Subsequently, their father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, "Grey’s Anatomy") raised them to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America... and he taught them how to kill it. Sam, however, wanted nothing to do with this violent and dangerous life, and he left it behind until the day Dean appeared on his doorstep with troubling news. Their father had gone missing on a "hunting trip." Sam and Dean have spent the last year cruising the highways of the United States in their 1967 Chevy Impala, searching for their lost father. Along the way, they battled various supernatural threats, and each other as well, for their sibling rivalries and conflicts were never far from the surface. Finally, they found their father, just as he was closing in on the demon who claimed their mother. After a climactic confrontation, the demon escaped, leaving the three Winchester men in dire shape. So the Winchesters’ mission continues. They travel the country, encountering creatures that most people believe exists only in folklore, superstition and nightmares -- vampires, spirits, revenants, reapers, even bloody clowns. Wherever they go, the brothers continue their search for the demon that destroyed their family. During their last confrontation, the demon said he had plans for "Sam and all the children like him." Now Sam must also decipher what this means and uncover the dark secrets buried within his own past and within his family’s history. From Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers McG ("Charlie’s Angels," "The O.C."), writer/executive producer Eric Kripke ("Boogeyman"), Robert Singer ("Midnight Caller"), and John Shiban ("The X-Files"). PREMIERES THURSDAY SEPTEMBER THE 28TH ON THE CW!!! |

| Bloomin' crazy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dunno, I've read spoilers so I kind of saw the whole thing coming (John dying I mean). It was a pretty impressive episode as far as creativity goes, but it was just decent, nothing special...I really don't see what all the fuzz is about. I guess the spoilers ruined the experience. I loved some of the one-liners though! "I full-on Swayze'd that mother!" And when Sam repeated what Dean had just said about the mojo. I was like "Oh yes, they're back!" |

Its just missing something. All the interactions with others are so short term. Also now that the story line is revealed, its not as big as I though, which is a bit of a disappointment. The stories from last season where to individual, there needs to be more of a larger story line that follows through the whole season or even the series, the story from last season about chasing there mothers killer is not enough and is getting old. Im still going to watch the show, but its not one that I have the feeling like I cant wait for the next one. |

As for a story line.. What about the plan the demon has for "the children like Sam"? Oh, and the fact that the episodes have very different stories are just part of the show now... I like how something new happens in every episode, but there's still a different (main) storyline lurking in the shadows.

According to the spoilers I've read there will be two new characters this season. Women. A mother and her daughter. In other words, at least one Mary Sue, which I don't really approve of...but whatever. I like the show the way it is now. Quote:
I like the concept, and I like the fact that there's not as much drama as on Veronica Mars or Smallville. It has funny one-liners and usually pretty good stories. And hot guys. It doesn't really need to change that much. I am tired of the "demon that killed mom and Jessica" though, I'll give you that.

And this time they've got Dad working with them, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who guest-starred as Grey's Anatomy's heart-transplant cutie Denny Duquette). PEOPLE recently caught up with the Winchester men on the Vancouver set of their show to dish about their too-close encounter with bees and their real-life father-son dynamics. What's new this season? Padalecki: We are going to meet some new hunters, and I know we will have kind of a halfway house of demon hunters. A lot of the Winchester boys' craziness. What is like to work as a father-son team?Morgan: I don't know of any two young actors who are quite as gracious and sweet and troublemaking as these two, so getting to work with them has been a real complete privilege. And, yes, I call them the fruit of my loins quite frequently (laughing). But, mostly, we are more like brothers. Jeffrey Dean Morgan What is the scariest thing that's ever happened on set?Padalecki: We did an episode called Bugs, and we had to be in a room with 60,000 bees. They were trained to be non-aggressive, but you know if you piss off a bee it's going to sting you! I got stung and Jensen got stung. On the day (of the shoot), the bee wrangler says, "Well, they're getting a little agitated." I said, "Agitated, you didn't say anything about being agitated!" What's the weirdest new urban legend you've heard because of the show? Padalecki: I guess that would be the Talpo, which was in an episode called Hell House. The Talpo is a legend that feeds off and is created by rumors and the more people believe in it, it sort of comes true. Where do you guys like to go to unwind? Ackles: The Sutton Place bar Gerard's is pretty much a staple for anyone who is shooting in town. They know us there and everyone is pretty friendly. What kind of mischief do you guys get into off set?Morgan: Stuff that I really can't, unfortunately, talk about (laughs). Needless to say, we have a really good time together and spend a lot of time laughing up here, which is good when you are working these kind of hours. Do you guys like '70s metal as much as your characters?Morgan: The '70s metal is more my deal, but I think they like more the dance mix and techno, especially Jared – he really likes his techno pop (laughs). Jensen is the one with the record collection – Yanni, Barry Manilow. What's your favorite thing to do when you're not working?Ackles: I've picked up golf, believe it or not. I have been playing quite a bit and got stuck on it last year because Tom Welling kept bugging me to get out on the course with him. He's a big golfer, and I am pretty competitive by nature. If Tom's going to challenge me I better take him up on it. Have you ever encountered any paranormal stuff outside of work?Morgan: Just hanging out with Jensen. That is strange in itself (laughing). Jensen, I love you! |

"I think people will be surprised at some of [the answers]," Shiban (The X-Files) said in an interview. "Everybody has their theories, of course. We've got some good twists and turns in there. We've obviously hinted at some big things from the top of the season involving Sam's destiny, involving Dean's mission and what the demon is doing. ... As usual in our Supernatural world, it's not going to be what everybody expects." Supernatural centers on brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) and their hunt for mythical creatures that prey on the human race. This season, the brothers have been seeking the demon that killed their parents and have discovered that Sam has psychic powers. The demon, it turned out, has plans for him and the children like him. Throughout the season, "hints and tidbits" have been dropped, which will lead up to the revelations in the finale, "All Hell Breaks Loose," Shiban said. "Those things were done on purpose. At the top of the year we said, 'As we hit our mythology periodically, let's drop this piece of information. Let's let this out or let's let that out, which will set up our ending.' And I'm very pleased with how it played. I think people are not frustrated. They're not feeling we're stringing them along, which I think is good. The sense I get is that they're excited and they want to know more and they're going to get more." Shiban added: "It's really been for us creatively real exciting and a real treat. We started out the year saying, 'OK, we're not just going to rest on our laurels.' And we were relatively happy with season one. There were some episodes that didn't work out as well as we hoped, and there were some things we tried that we weren't 100 percent happy with. But we said, 'Let's not just keep doing the same thing. Let's throw some curve balls. Let's open up the world. Let's add characters. Let's find different ways to tell stories, both in the area of what we call stand-alones—our sort of monster-of-the-week episodes, where we did everything from killer clowns to a demonic virus to the ghost of the serial killer—[and our mythology episodes].' We try to tell stories in a different way, sometimes with flashbacks, sometimes, [as in] 'The Night Shifter' that aired recently, where it's sort of Dog Day Afternoon and you're telling the story from the middle." The next original episode, "Hollywood Babylon," will take the brothers Winchester undercover on the set of a horror movie that may be cursed. It airs on April 19 in the show's regular 9 p.m. ET/PT Thursday timeslot. http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...ory=0&id=40815 |

Nothing major, but still... ****************** Jensen Ackles, star of The CW's horror series Supernatural, told SCI FI Wire that an upcoming episode will provide a glimpse into the lives Dean (Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) Winchester might have led had their mother not been killed by a demon years earlier. "What Is and What Should," the 20th episode of the show's sophomore season, was written and directed by creator and executive producer Eric Kripke and will air on May 3. In it, a demon genie, called a djinn, provides the unusual opportunity for Dean to see what might have been. "So you're kind of thrust into this parallel universe of Dean and Sam and Mom and Dad and everybody and what it would have been like if all of that stuff had not happened 20-some odd years ago," Ackles said in an interview. "It's really interesting, and it was interesting for me, because I'm used to playing this character in a certain light, and I've become very comfortable in that position, playing this character. And now all of a sudden you're taking the actor out of the comfort zone." Ackles added: "It was really difficult, and I was glad that Eric Kripke was directing the episode, because it was just very helpful to have the writer and creator of the show guide me, emotionally, through what I needed to do in the episode. So, for me, it was a fairly tough episode." Supernatural airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. —Ian Spelling http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...ory=0&id=40954 |
