Default Scarlett Johansson: Portrait of a Rising Star

The Biography is expected to be released in September

Description:

Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Born in 1985 in New York, young Scarlett Marie Johansson has already achieved a cinematic career of stellar proportion, swiftly becoming an icon to both genders. Ubiquitous as the face of Calvin Klein, L'Oreal and Reebok, and described as the new Marilyn Monroe by Vogue magazine, she's also proved her mettle as a quality thespian, starring in movies as diverse as literary, intelligent Woody Allen features, gung-ho action romps like Michael Bay's The Island, and of course, alternative, hip fare like the film which made her name known the world over, Sofia Coppola's much-lauded Lost in Translation. Searching for the essence of her luminous star quality, this book takes a critical look at her work, and traces her transformation from talented child actress to Hollywood icon.

Wait a minute. The kid's only 21 years old. She's been in a few movies, some of which have made some money, some of which have received critical acclaim. But so have a lot of other people. What a bunch of hype. I'll bet without the pictures, it wouldn't sell.

Right. And who wants to know all the intimate details of her life?

My thoughts exactly. I think it's being marketed to the younger fan, who wants the pics and stuff. If you'll notice it's going straight to paperback. As for me, I'll wait for the movie.

I think it's a bit early to have a Scarlett biography. Maybe in about 20 years or so, then yes I'd agree. but she's young and like MSFixR said, she's only been in a few films. I'm not expecting a thick book here. Though I do like the cover picture. Thanks for the info Bill.

I'm assuming Scarlett herself isn't involved with it's publication... that must be irritating to have someone publish a book about, with no say what's in it.

(And Mr.fixr, back off the hairy navel... unless you want to be Bunny Slapped!)

If your navel is up to it, then great... bring it on!

There's an up charge involved for trans-Atlantic shipment as well as for overnight delivery, in case you can't wait.
