Scarlett to Co-host Art Auction in NYC

Here's the story:

Free Arts NYC 8th Annual Art Auction Benefit
Free Arts NYC and Vanity Fair invite you to the 8th Annual Art Auction Benefit: Portraits & Polaroids, April 23rd, from 6 to 9 pm at Milk Gallery. The event will be hosted by board members Amy Sacco & Mary Alice Stephenson alongside honorary chairs Scarlett Johansson & Liv Tyler. Polaroid 20x24 images by artists such as Christopher Burden, Chuck Close, Adam Fuss, Barbara Kruger and Christopher Wool will be sold in an exclusive live auction by board member Simon de Pury. The event will also feature a silent auction of artworks loosely based around the theme of the portrait. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. I'm beginning to wonder if Scarlett even showed up to this last night. I've seen no pics. Wireimage has pics of everyone, except Scarlett. I don't think she was there.

April 24, 2007 -- SCARLETT Johansson didn't show as expected last night at the Vanity Fair- and Dior-sponsored Free Arts NYC event at Milk Studios hosted by her friend, Amy Sacco. Maybe she's still smarting from the fall she took Sunday morning, when she stumbled while running to her car with a coat over her head trying to avoid paparazzi. Johansson partied all night after hosting "Saturday Night Live," first at McCormick & Schmick's and then at Azza. Though event publicists said Johansson "cancelled her appearance," her rep told Page Six, "Scarlett never agreed to co-host the Free Arts NYC event and was never scheduled to attend."

What a major mix up though. How would an organization like this promote her being there without a confirmation. Very strange.
