The "You'd imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly travelling and constantly 'on' - how can he return these personal emails?" she told the Politico website. "But he does, and in his off-time I know he also calls people who have donated the minimum to thank them." She described how after a particularly tough debate earlier this year, she sent an email congratulating him for "holding his ground". He responded that the questioning was "difficult" and he was being pounded on "one silly question after another." |

The 23-year-old star has long voiced her support for Obama in his race for the White House in the upcoming U.S. elections - but Johansson was recently accused of favouring the politician because of his good looks and not focusing on his policies. But a source tells the New York Daily News that the rumours are just not true: "She is a surrogate (Obama campaigner). They're not exchanging love letters. Everyone seems to be forgetting that she's engaged. "Kal Penn (actor and Obama supporter) is also a surrogate, and no one says he has a crush on Obama." Johansson is currently engaged to Blade: Trinity actor Ryan Reynolds. + Scarlett Johansson’s constant (email) communication with Barack Obama may have something to do with her twin brother, Hunter, who happens to work for Obama’s campaign. "She tells me how girls think. When I'm stuck, I call," says the 23-year-old, a campaign organizer for Barack Obama. "She's set me up on dates. It wasn't with anybody famous. It was with some school friends – all very beautiful, wonderful girls." |

As American waits to crown Barack Obama king and president in November many believed that Scarlett Johansson was all set to move into that whole Marilyn Monroe role for the next president. The buzz began when Politico.Com reported that Obama and Scar Jo were burning up bandwidth e-mailing and texting each other while he was on the road campaigning.
So what does wife Michelle Obama have to say? She said it was the first time in her adult life…actually according to a report from gossip Mike Walker of the Enquirer she has nixed any "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" serenade for Obama if he does make it to the White House. *** According to the report, "Obama's strong-willed wife Michelle has already poured water on a budding friendship between the presidential candidate and gorgeous actress Scarlett Johansson." Walker cites "sources" for the details of the report. Why didn't they just aske her this on "The View"? Walker claims that when reports surfaced that Scarlett and the senator were exchanging e-mails, Obama's wife sprang into action to find out what was going on between them, divulged a campaign source. The 23 year old "Lost in Translation" star, who also fancies herself something of a singer, revealed in mid-June that she had swapped friendly e-mails with Obama for months. *** "Michelle hit the roof when she found out Scarlett was publicizing her contact with her husband," the source told the magazine. "Although Michelle's been told that Scarlett is engaged and her interest is strictly in rallying support for the campaign, she wasn't happy." It should be noted that there is no indication the 46-year-old candidate is romantically involved with Scarlett, but the source pointed told the magazine: "Michelle is incredibly protective and jealous when it comes to Obama.
