Johansson Slams 'hip' Charity Campaigners

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has hit out at stars who support charities to boost their own image. The LOST IN TRANSLATION actress is fronting global Aids campaign Red to raise money for women and children in Africa, but insists that her support has "nothing to do with (her) career". She explains, "Somebody gave me a great phrase yesterday - 'idiot wind'. It's what comes out of your mouth. "I think certain people are guilty of it by supporting something when they haven't done the proper research. You're always going to have people who hop on the bandwagon when something is hip. "It's important for people in the public eye to advocate what we believe in. We're given this voice and we should use it."

It's great that she thinks like that. It seems like every celeb has decided to become another Angelina just for the sake of it. But I guess that as long as it benefits people it's good.

I'm just hoping that steps are taken this time to actually get the aid to the people that need it. Other big fundraisers in the past: Ethiopia/Somalia have just gone to benefit the governments of those nations and most of the time the people saw nothing. If Scarlett has really done her homework on this one, I'll believe her.

Yes,She is not only beautiful,She is a very intelligent person.She always comes across as very level headed on the talk shows,also.The perfect woman!
