Although there has been no official word from HBO, I think it can be assumed that they don't plan to go forward with the project. So what do we do? (if anything) I guess the next logical step is to start an online petition. Perhaps contact HBO in some way with email/letters. My fear though is that any project like this be done well and not half-arsed but in a coordinated way with other SMG outlets (smgfanboard, IMDb, whedonesque, etc). Also contacting media that might be friendly to the cause (Kristen at E!, Ausiello at EW, etc) as well as using other internet sources like twitter and Livejournal. Your thoughts? Volunteers? Ideas? Again, please hold off starting a petition, etc till we figure out exactly what we want to say. For example, I think instead of asking HBO to release the pilot (which I don't think they'll do), perhaps we should ask them to reconsider their decision and to go forth with the series. | Newbie | (Hi first time poster but a long time lurker) A petition for an existing show I can understand (even though I think they are useless if the ratings are really bad. A campaign to gain viewers would make more sense.) but a petition for a show that has never aired seems strange and I don't see why HBO should listen. The reason we want the show is based on what? SMG? It's hard to get passionate about a show that you've never seen and have people (not just SMG fans) sign it. Maybe it wasn't meant to be and I'm sure she will find another show eventually. I find petition always so desperate and negative. I remember Tara Reid fans asking someone to give Tara Reid a job and I found that degrading. Just my opinion though. Yes I read the articles about her career not going so well, but I think that's normal for an actor and I'm sure she will bounce back and will have success again in the future. She and we as fans need to be patient. |

I do agree with what you say, as I was going to say, why not actually ask HBO what there reasons are behind their decision not to give the green light to this show. If we don't agree with them, then lets have a petition. I think Apollo should do this, and I will fully support it. |

They've presumably taken this decision either because the pilot was rubbish , and yes I know people said the script was good but good scripts sometimes don't work well when filmed and the reverse is true as well . The other reason was that there was some production issues they couldn't overcome even though they already spent a small fortune on producing the pilot so I don't think they would have taken that decision lightly Director Alan Taylor use of the word "sadly " does seem to imply to me that he as an experienced director for HBO didn't perceive it as rubbish while on set so I would tend towards production issues . As I said before I don't think that decision would be a decision they took lightly so getting to reverse it would seem unlikely |

Charles Randolph would possibly be entitled to a copy and the actors their scenes ( so a complete copy possible for sarah since in a lot of scenes and executive producer ) The decision was also probably made before the birth of Charlotte as someone pointed out at the time of the announcement that mention was made of Freddie in 24 but TWM was absent from Sarah's name . | |
