The widely popular TV series (based on a little-seen s****y film), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, may be making a comeback to the big screen, but without the help of anyone who made it worth watching. The owners to the series rights, Kuzui Enterprises, are looking to create a relaunch of the of series, much like the newly vamped (no pun intended) up blockbuster movie Star Trek. The film would have no connection to the TV series, no inclusion of familiar characters, and as for now, does not even include the masterful work of Buffy creator Joss Whedon. This, of course, begs the question of who the hell is going to see this movie if the fans don't even have the creator to fall back on to make the s**t work? We guess it would mean a new slayer for a new generation. But we think the only slayer any generation is interested in is Buffy herself. Maybe there should be more efforts on the reunion then a revamp (pun intended)! Another link http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009...s+Whedon%3F+NO! |

| Newbie | There are so many reasons why this movie is a horrible idea, example: -its only been 6 years...umm hello -there was already a 'movie' and it sucked -there is only 1 actress that can play Buffy and that is Sarah (even though Kristy played her in the movie, Sarah made the character real) -without the original actors/characters (willow/alyson, xander/nicolas, etc...) the cast will suck because they captured who they are -as someone pointed out on another board they CANNOT have a disney actress play the role of Buffy, that would be a true insult of Sarah's AMAZING acting abilities -without Joss and/or Sarah in the project, its just not Buffy -Buffy IS NOT Star Trek or one of those older Hollywood Shows that the can just re-create it was the actors that made the characters that made the show ...ok im done, but seriously as someone is a obsessed Buffy and Sarah fan its such a bad idea to do this because it just wont work, its going to tarnish the legacy and its not right... |

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Perez Hilton wrote this on his website Yesterday, we mentioned that a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer flick is in the works, but it will go on without Sarah Michelle Gellar and, more importantly, without beloved creator Joss Whedon. As expected, fans are raising hell! Hoping to shed some light on the project, TV Guide contacted Joss to get some much deserved answers. Unfortunately, they were disappointed. This was the entire interview: TV Guide: What do you think about this Buffy movie they're making without you? Joss Whedon: I hope it's cool. WTF?!?!?! Much like a text message, we can't seem to detect the tone of this. We can't tell if this has a happy "I don't give a s**t" statement or a "I'm p****d as s**t. Why are they effing up my life's work?!" statement. Maybe this means things really aren't finalized and he's not going to go into it until it does. Maybe he is ready to do something else besides Buffy? Maybe… Too many maybes!!! |
