I don't recognize any of those names, but I don't really go to films (unless Sarah's in them!).

I know of two and they had links to Sarah in round-about ways. Embeth Davidtz, was in 13 Ghosts with Matthew Lillard, and Erika Christensen was in Swinfan with Jesse Bradford, who was in Bring It On with Eliza Dushku. (Blimey doing my own Six Degrees here!) Not familiar with the others though.

I can't say I know of many of them either but I think I may have seen many of them .

In checking their credits to see what other work they had done I noticed that most of them had done roles in the various "Law and Order's "

I'm particulary fond of L&O:Criminal Intent but do watch the other ones as well

Palmstar have updated their website to put Sarah in the listing for the Veronika entry

It's the July 10 2007 entry

Confusingly they have left the entry about Kate Bosworth in the role of Veronika above it

http://www.palmstar.com/?s=veronika

Thanks, Spdub! Since I do the L&O stuff for real in my secondary job I never watch those types of shows. I guess that's why I don't watch medical shows either (working three days a week in the O.R.). Lately - I've been watching "The Deadliest Catch" on Discovery. I kind of relate to those type of guys (having been a sailor).

Post Latets News!

-David Thewlis is officially playing Dr. Blake.
-Embeth Davidtz is not playing Mari. Melissa Leo is officially playing Mari.(i don't know what happened to Embeth Davidtz )
-Claire is Zedka and she is being played by Erika Christensen.

These are the last news. After then there won't be any news coming from me.Probably we could see pictures because they will be in New York and the photographers will be there too. I hope all the best for this movie.

Well they could film the rain and add it into the picture as another reason Veronika wants to kill herself

Thanks for the info spdub and onur. Seems odd to cast Kate Bosworth, maybe someone's got their wires crossed with another film?

This was posted today at Variety.
Guess the "selling at Cannes" part is the interesting angle

Das Films teams for adaptation
Gellar, Tucker, Thewlis to star in film

By MICHAEL FLEMING

Das Films has teamed with Velvet Steamroller Entertainment, Muse Productions and PalmStar Entertainment for "Veronika Decides to Die," an adaptation of the Paulo Coehlo novel that stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jonathan Tucker, David Thewlis, Melissa Leo and Erika Christensen.
Roberta Hanley and Larry Gross wrote the script, and Emily Young ("Kiss of Life") will direct. The film started shooting in New York May 12.

Gellar plays the title character, a woman who goes on a journey to free herself from the constraints of society.

Financing comes from Sriram Das' Das Films and Velvet Steamroller. Jonathan Bross and Chris Hanley are producing, and Kevin Frakes and Stephan Paternot are exec producers. Velvet Octopus is selling the film worldwide at Cannes.

After the ST experience at Cannes I have a bitter taste in my mouth about that event.

Thanks for the update. David Thewlis is a good actor, though people may know him from the Harry Potter films.

Just a stray comment....anyone find it kind of odd that we haven't heard anything about filming yet a week in. By that I mean locations..where it's being shot, Pap shots of Sarah on way to "set," etc. Even if there are no pictures, I'd hear something like "They are using the Smith Nursing Home in Brooklyn to shoot exteriors/interiors for the movie...blah blah blah."

Or maybe I'm just being impatient lol

Well lucky for Sarah the Paps for the most part don't follow her around but seem to just snap her when they come across her .

Apart from 3 pap shots of Sarah we didn't hear or see anything about the shooting of Possession and that movie by it's nature is more likely to have been shot in public places ( judging by the trailer talking to the priest ,outside various houses etc ) .Same goes for TAIB .

To bring it back to NY we were spoiled for pictures for Suburban Girl but think how much of the movie that was and it was only outdoor scenes and apart from one fan that got to be an extra I don't recall her anything else about the shoot

The only sections I can think of with VDTD we might hear about are, if they are keeping her a librarian , the production shooting in a library and the jailbreak section towards the end of the story .The other sections would be more than likely shot in a studio

So I don't find it that surprising to hear nothing but I do find it annoying

One other thing Apollo, if you want to call this a report , there was this on IMDB saying Sarah is blond but of course no way of knowing whether this true or not
