Possible New Film Role: Gellar in talks for 'Veronika'

^ Just wondering if we have some underwater scenes with Sarah. I'm not sure she's done that before. Great info as well Apollo, thanks for this. I didn't know about the filming taxes in NYC.

There was an underwater sequence in the season 3 episode of Buffy Consequences at the start of the episodes where Buffy is dreaming after Faith killing of the deputy Mayor



So it seems that if they wanted Sarah to do an underwater scene for VDTD she has some experience though I'm not sure even if it was her first time that would have put her off .

Sarah is definitely a swimmer or she wouldn't have been surfing in Hawaii recently.

IIRC Sarah said she learnt to swim after doing the old actor dodge of telling the casting people that you could do a task at an audition , getting the role and then having to actually learn how to swim

That might have been for BHFR as she was swimming in that. Did she actually swim in the pool scenes from SC, Ed?

Actually, there was at least one scene in a pool where she came under her ex's float, and then held onto it for the rest of the scene.

I read somewhere that Sarah used to go scuba diving

Now I remember cliffdiving being mentioned in a biography somewhere. I'm sure that's when she was younger.

I seem to remember both scuba and cliff diving being mentioned. Hasn't Sarah swam with dolphins or sharks?

She did swim with dolphins once during a vacation from Buffy. There was a news story on it... maybe I saw it on YouTube? Can't remember...sorry I can't provide more info....

While she was on AMC, she mentioned vacationing in the Bahamas (or Bermuda) frequently, and wearing her swimsuit under her travel clothes so that she could hit the beach IMMEDIATELY upon reaching her hotel.

This is a mention of one of the films co-stars, Melissa Leo

EARLY one especially fine morning last month in Central Park, New Yorkers kept stopping to watch Melissa Leo shoot a scene for a movie called “Veronika Decides to Die.” There wasn’t a lot to see, just Ms. Leo on a park bench trading lines with the English actor David Thewlis, who, like her, is known as an actor’s actor, which is to say, immensely talented and insufficiently famous. The movie, based on a Paulo Coelho novel and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, is an indie aimed for release next year. Ms. Leo does a lot of those, and her part is secondary. She does a lot of those too. But, she said later of the character she plays, “It’s a pretty classic supporting role, with several scenes throughout and her own arc in the film.”

This is where area where Veronika's apartment is meant to be

-we pass these trailers and flood lights. turns out they were filming Veronika Decides to Die, some indie movie sarah michelle gellar's in.

good location scouts--the area is amazing. classy, upper-crust fixtures (like a wine lounge) dot the streets like beacons of light between broken down, graffiti-ed warehouses. the street over is a fence with barbed wire and overgrown weeds, but there are apartment buildings too, with kids' toys and bikes littering fronts. on a tall, storyed brick building in block lettering are the words "SCREWRENT". this is all by the water, under the williamsburg bridge.
