Intriguing question, Spdub. I don't have a clue. I do remember that Joss shot the entire ending scene in the church over, but I don't know if Sarah and James had anything to do with that.

You're right

Sarah and James went to Joss saying that the orignal scene that was written and shot just didn't work .

Joss then went and looked at the dallies ,agreed with them and then rewrote the scene entirely which they then filmed after they had finished filming Episode 3
