Default When did you become a fan?

Or what made you a fan? Simple questions really.

As for me it was around the 3rd series of Buffy when I liked her. But I guess it was after seeing her in Cruel Intentions I was really hooked! It was after seing her play such a bad girl that I thought 'Hey she's cool!' and also showed me that she wasn't just Buffy. I guess I could say about how brilliant she is in that role (and why I'm still peeved at her getting no awards for it), but I won't. Oh dear! I just did!

I was teaching summer school in 92, and on this particular day it was HOT!! Ya know how you get into your car, parked in the sunlight for 5 hours, and the steering wheel feels like liquid? Very HOT!! It was an old Rabbit - no A/C!! So I sped home, let the dog into the backyard, grabbed a beer, turned up my A/C unit, turned on the TV (manual; NO remote) and fell into my Lazyboy. This show was just starting, these kids were dancing - and this one girl in what I have since termed her sailor outfit (although it really wasn't) caught my attention - and held it throughout the show. She was good!! She was cute!! She was surrounded by amateurs!! So, when the end credits ran, I paid close attention: the show was Swans Crossing, and I've been a fan of Sarah's ever since.

I guess I was a late starter and really didn't learn to appreciate Sarah until I accidentally tuned into "Buffy". It didn't take long for me to be hooked on Sarah's amazing acting ability. I started collecting the entire series on DVD and then I was buying everything I could get my hands on regarding Sarah and "Buffy". What really got me was the number of books available and I think I have read at least 90% of them. I found myself wanting to do something to promote Sarah's career and the only thing I could think of was through fan art. I have been making wallpapers for her fans for several years now and have recently gone over 500.

Swans Crossing, Ed? We've never had it shown over here, which is a shame. They did show her infamous Burger King advert on one of those 'Before they were famous' shows. She looked cute.

When my mate forced me to sit down and watch Becoming parts 1&2. I cried my eyes out and was in complete "AWW" of her as she was gorgeous and couragous. Just what I wanted to be. But surprisingly it still took me another 4 months {I think} before I bought season 1 on video and since that day I have been in love with her.

I got into Sarah back in 1993 when she debuted on All My Children. I used to watch soap opera's alot back then and when sarah debuted as Kendall, I grew to like her alot on the show. I was upset when she left the soap but once I saw her on Buffy I was happy again.

basically at the beginng of Buffy
I saw a commercial for a new series about vampires and slayers, and it was so new subject it cought my interest. I sat down to wwatch first episode to see ohow it is, and I got hooked. But I used to see her only as a good girl. Cruel Intentions opend my eyes how well she actually can act. that movie blew me away

It's quite interesting reading American fans posts, and the different shows that got them into Sarah. As in Europe, she's really known for just playing Buffy on TV.

Listening to Ed reminisce about SC, I certainly hope it comes out on DVD someday. I imagine it would have to be on a Region 2 DVD to work for you Andy. It would be nice to have that to look forward to.
CI did the same thing for me, Krissu.

I pray everyday for a Swans Crossing DVD set; 65 half-hour episodes - the BIG disappontment with the series was its cancellation after one season, so there were a whole slew of dangling threads, which some fansites have attempted to solve with their own fanfic. And CI is a phenomenal showcase for Sarah!!

I'd really like to see some of these eps, just to see her in a pre Buffy role.

There are pix to be found, of course, at different sites from SC, and I did post a while back a vid from SC of Sarah emerging from a pool. There are some sellers on eBay with SC DVDs of varying quality, plus YouTube has some SC eps - also of varying quality. But no official DVD collection.
