Gellar Says No to Buffy Return

Sarah Michelle Gellar has further broken the hearts of Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans - she has turned down the chance to recreate her famous TV character in episodes of spin-off series Angel. Buffy creator Joss Whedon had offered the actress the chance to return to TV in 2004 to play Buffy in two special episodes of Angel, but she has turned him down. A disappointed Whedon says, "She feels it's not the right time."

I'm sure she has her reasons, I think when the time is right she will do it. She hasn't put Buffy to rest yet.

I'm not surprised either. I would like to see her on Angel, but I'd rather see her do a number of movies first, before she reprises her most famous role to date. Otherwise it would just look like Sarah didn't really want to quit Buffy fully (well to the critics anyway).

I just posted this in the "Buffy" forum, and came here to do the same. Looks like it was already here.

I'm not surprised . . . yes, actually, in a way I am . . . yet saddened. If this is the last season of "Angel," then we have really seen the last of the Buffy character for a long time.

After David Boreanaz's latest TV Guide online interview I would be surprised if she went back at all.

If Sarah doesn't feel like it, then she'd better not. The last thing we want to see is her roles or appearances getting old and tired. Maybe she wants to leave on a high note. 7 seasons of Buffy is no small potatoes.
