| There is an interview with him here, but here is the part about the movie: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CS!: You're going to be starring in "Southland Tales", the new movie from Richard (Donnie Darko) Kelly. Can you tell us a little about that? Scott: It's really hard to describe. The script is kinda similar to "Strangelove" or "Clockwork Orange." It's got a very Kubrick vibe to it, and I think he's the kind of guy that could really pull off something really interesting. I play a guy who--he's not really a racist cop but he's an edgy cop--and I play his twin brother, so in the movie I play two guys. And the Rock plays this kind of action star who's really messed up, and kind of an amnesiac. I mean, I've read the script six times and I still can't figure out what's going on. There's lots of great little parts. I'm one of the leads. It's pretty much me and Sarah Michelle Gellar, who plays a porn star, and the Rock. It was a great experience for me to get this part, 'cause I was like "I wanna meet this guy." I sat down with him and was like, "These are the things I anticipated doing when I moved out here. I've gone down this other path that I appreciate, but I wanna work with you." He was like "Well, read the script," and I was like, "I don't know what's going on in this movie, but I wanna do it." CS!: There were some rumors going around that it was going to be a musical. Is that true? Scott: It's not. I think at one point that was a part of it and maybe he still might. He's the kind of director who might throw that at us. "Hey -- I want you to sing the lines this time." I know that Moby and Trent Reznor are doing the music for it. But is something like that possible with Sean William Scott and the Rock? No offence, I like the oafish comedies with Scott, but I also like the movies of Stanley Kubrick, especially the comedy Dr. Strangelove. To me both can't be mixed. I mean Kubrick really doesn't stand for oafishness. There's a whole other expectation to that name. The problem Scott has is that he's always associated with American Pie, Road Trip and similar movies. | |

August 18, 2005 "Great stuff so far. Amazing work by the actors. Sarah is very sharp in her delivery and she definitely has the role of Krysta Now down. It's great how she can move from hysterically ditzy to dramatically serious. Krysta's not a one dimensional character. Seann is incredibly friendly and really excited to be part of the film. The respect he has for Richard is very obvious. Fortunately he's able to work his shooting schedule around press for Dukes of Hazzard. Just like Sarah, he has the part down pat." You can read the daily reports on how the film is progressin at: http://www.richard-kelly.net/index.php Sorry - I don't know how to post a link just yet. Strictly versed in HTML. |

Glad to hear that Sarah's doing really well in this film, and that her character isn't one dimensional. Hopefully Sarah can be both funny and serious in the same film for once. Something which she hasn't shown outside of Buffy. Don't worry about posting the link up like that, just as long as it works there's no problem. |
