Sarah Smokes Cigarettes?

who the hell cares? do we know her? NO! ... does she know us? NO! ... does what she does with her body affect us? NO! ...if she smokes, she smokes...if she doesn't, she doesn't.

its kinda sad tho that lately all these young celebs are smoking. britney spears, lindsay lohan, mischa barton, and also my love chad michael murray. its kinda of upsetting, but i think we should just let them live their lives, if you're not going to like some celeb anymore because they smoke then you must not have respect for them. for example if you love your mom and respect her and look up to her and then she starts smoking all of the sudden are you going to trash talk her? no! probably not. i think people should let the smoking thing go!

Strange how in years gone by it was cool to smoke, and actors did it all the time, and in films. Now it's the one of the biggest taboo's going. I have to agree with Kiwi and I lovvee Chad Michael Murray over what they've said. Yes we can express concern over Sarah, if she is smoking, as we're fans of her.But ultimatly it's down to Sarah herself if she wants to smoke or not.

I also know that everyone has a right to an opinion, what I don't want is poster bashing other poster. Just slagging them off over one comment.

If you haven't anything good to say, then don't say anything.

Perhaps I should have stated that a REALIABLE member of another community posted this information. I don't just go around believeing everything I read/hear or else I'd believe it whenever someone posted "omg Sarah smokes! I saw it!" when it's largely known that she doesn't. Either I believe someone reliable or I believe you who seemingly is out to prove something by going on Sarah's fanboards and posting about her smoking. Logically, you'd think after being in the public eye for 24 years, someone would actually have paparazzi pictures or actual solid evidence (that does not include fuzzy video tape) that she does smoke. She must smoke like once every ten years or something. She gets a ridiculous craving for a habit that she never practiced for a long time...sort of like biting nails. I know all of a sudden I have an urge to bite my nails after not doing it for years despite knowing how much bacteria lives under them. So what if I'm a total germaphobe!

You'd think that bits and pieces of footage and pictures would have gone around on her fansites. Surely you know that once upon a time Sarah did smoke in her teens and hated it, that she got one of her boyfriends to quit smoking, that she didn't find it appealing. You must realize that she has no reason to deny ever smoking, as she hasn't in the past. And I'll reiterate what I've previously stated:

There's no reason to deny it; it's not like people are accusing her of smoking marajuana. Smoking is an unhealthy habit yes but it is neither illegal nor is it largely frowned upon. Lots of people smoke; Sarah would have no particular reason to deny it.

You can think whatever you want but don't go around trying to convince other people of something that (as far as we've seen) isn't true.

You're bound to get tons of opposition to the claim...and it's bound to start an argument. You'll get people who don't even care to a certain extent arguing with you. That's how it goes...

You could also calm down. OK, we see that it's not proven that Sarah smokes regulary. I agree, there would be more paparazzi pictures of her. I also find it credible, when Sarah says, she doesn't allow smoking in her home.
Actually I go with your version, that she only smoked occasionally in her teens.
But stitch never claimed she was a chain-smoker. You kinda made it seem like he did.

I'm sure you think you can tell the state of my emotions through a mere post on this topic...but trust me, I'm far from worked up about this. Writing a long post does not mean one is not calm. I just tend to write long posts.

I never claimed Stich said she was a chain smoker...My post is in response to the claim that she "smokes". I was somewhat being sarcastic but I did state that she must smoke every ten years which is why we never get pictures...I likened it to a nailbiting habit. You can re-read my previous post and let me know where I implied that I think Stitch stated that Sarah was a chain smoker. Taking a drag of a cigarette once every ten years (ten, twenty, and will smoke at thirty) does not make a person a smoker...and indeed if Sarah did that (which I don't think she does) that would not make her a smoker. I took a drag of a cigarette a couple years ago out of sheer curiosity; that didn't make me a smoker--I don't smoke. I know, I want to try a clove just to see what the appeal is (a couple of my friends smoke them), simply because I'm curious not because I'm a smoker or because I took a drag of a cigarette years ago. I stand by my point that if she "smoked" (implying that she actually has a habit) there would evidence that she does.

She did smoke for a little while in her teens (her version not mine) and didn't find it appealing. I can't imagine her wanting to try smoking again if she found it so unappealing or if she was turned off by it.

I was looking at an article from Movieline in 2002 called "60 Questions for Sarah" relating to another thread and I noticed this quote:
Q: "Both you and Freddie are anti-drug in a town where drugs are quite prevalent. Do you leave a party if joints are being passed or cocaine sniffed, or do you just move to another side of the room?"

The paparazzi can capture anything. Britney Spears picking her nose? Sure. Beyonce's belly hanging out of her pants? Of course!
But have you seen Sarah Michelle Gellar smoking in a recent picture...? Eeehhh nope.

I mean, I've read actual interviews where Marsters said he'd brush his teeth and pop a mint before kissing scenes because she didn't like the taste of cigarettes (he was a smoker at that time). And about how the guy before him (Blucas or that Parker guy) was an inconsiderate jerk for not doing the same. Was she lying to him? Why would she about something like that?

In light of things like that and the fact that in all the years she's been famous, I've never seen a pap pic (and I've seen alot) where she was caught or read anything more than uncorroborated gossip, I don't see any reason not to believe her. I've been on Fametracker and TWOP, who had posters who actually worked on/been to the set of BTVS and never heard anything about it. They weren't deluded fans blinded by adoration; some of them didn't even like her, so I doubt they were part of a big cover-up to protect her image.

Did she smoke in the past? Yes, admittedly so. She said she gave it up. She's never done anything to make me *not* believe her, in fact, everything I've seen seems to correspond with what she claims.

I tend to agree with all the other posters who said 'Why would she lie?' According to 'accounts' I've read on gossip sites she seems rather cavalier about her habit--doing it outside events, shooting sets, outside clubs. She'd have been caught by now, no doubt, if it were true.

Don't worry about it. I see there have been some vaild points, and good arguments made here. Just don't get too carried away though.

We're not going to start getting on people's backs because they swear next are we? I know people who smoke and I'm certain some of you also know someone. Now that doesn't change my oppinion of them I don't even question them, they want to do it they can. It shouldn't be any different with SMG should it?

I have the footage which is being discussed on tape, and would just like to reiterate that it clearly is not a cigarette that she's holding. In fact, she's not holding anything. At the part in question, she has her thumb and her fingers pressed together while she's talking. I suppose if you're not paying attention or if the footage is of poor quality (or even if you're trying to put together evidence for a mysterious conspiracy that she smokes), then her thumb might be mistaken for something that she's holding. If the footage is of good enough quality however, then the shot lasts long enough that it is quite clearly not a cigarette.

If she did smoke but was trying to hide it, is anyone stupid enough to think that she'd smoke while a camera crew from E! were on the set? Let alone right in front of her? Please, it's pathetic.

stitch: You really need to find a new fetish. Or at least a new celebrity whose fans might be gullible enough to believe your rubbish. Or better yet, why not find a celebrity who actually does smoke?
