Freddie on Buffy film

I know that this is film news, but I felt it should be placed as a main thread

Fredie's cast doubts on the possibility of a new Buffy film with Sarah. He's apparently said "(Sarah) would want to invest in something that's already failed once."

Nothing else has been said about another Buffy film other than a few rumours, and Freddie comming out and saying this. Besides both Sarah and Joss are busy with projects at the moment. Another thing to think about is where to take the film after what happened in the final episode. It wouldn't feel right if Buffy had to 'save the world' again from a huge powerful demon. As that's what each series built up to each time, and to great effect in most cases. Also would Sarah want to go back and play the role that she's most famous for? Since the roles that Sarah's now playing suggest that she would like to be known for more than just being a Vampire Slayer.

first of all freddie is an idoit! its definetly not his decsion to make. If there was to be a Buffy movie ( iwould be totally stoked and the first in line!! [img]smile.gif[/img] haha) Sarah would make the decsion and i do think she would want to relive those days again. Buffy made her and so many people love it so much still. it has made an impact on the world and i think she should do it. And hopefully Joss would resolve some issues and make some closure. but dont get me wrong about freddie but i really dont think its his call and i dont think he should have said anything.

I do agree with you about that it shouldn't be Freddie's position to say so on the matter. And that it's really down to Sarah if she wants to do the film or not.

I find what Freddie has said interesting..and very stupid.

He says "Sarah would`nt invest in something that has failed once"....i would love her to do it....if it did happen.And prove him wrong!!!!

Maybe he needs publicity for his show. Where he also claims that Sarah wants to be on his show.

I think you guys are being a little too hard on him... He is her husband, so I am sure they have discussed it before... I bet he was asked the question during an interview, and just said what Sarah would want him to say. It isnt like he is making the decision for her, he is just saying what, most likely, she has said to him, or would want him to say...

I would have to agree with Andrew that Sarah seems interested in more adult oriented work at the moment (not that "Buffy" wasn't adult oriented - it appealed to all age groups). I think she would consider an offer if it came along with the proper funding, story line and director. She loves her fans and may do it for them, but it would have to be combined with something she feels would succeed. As far as a possible script; has anyone read the latest novel by Nancy Holder - "Queen of the Slayers"? It picks up right where season seven ended and follows through until the ending of "Angel". It is a definite candidate for a "Buffy" film. - Pat
