| Here it is: EXCLUSIVE: Freaky partners together again Lohan Says Mean Girls a Go by LindsayFans.com, 07 September 2003 (updated 23 September 2003) UNDATED (lindsayfans.com) — Most teenagers can't wait for their high school years to end. Actor Lindsay Lohan is living hers twice. Fresh from filming Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen — which came fresh from the huge box-office success Freaky Friday — Lohan breaks from a familiar studio (Disney) to tell a similar story. Helmed by Friday's Mark Waters, Paramount Studios' Mean Girls is based on the nonfiction parents' guide, Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and Other Realities of Adolescence by Rosalind Wiseman (who previously authored Defending Ourselves: Prevention, Self-Defense, and Recovery from **** ). Where Drama Queen follows a popular New York high schooler who needs to rediscover popularity at a New Jersey school, Mean Girls tells the (also) fictional story of a teen who's been living in another country with her zoologist parents. After moving to Chicago and enrolling in a public school there, Lohan's character learns just how mean teenagers — and particularly teenage girls — can be, and finds herself reduced to using her peers' tactics just to survive. The Lohan family's representative confirmed Lindsay's involvement this week. Shooting is scheduled for later this month. Rachel McAdams (The Hot Chick) is set to co-star as Regina, one of the popular girls at the school. Saturday Night Live head Writer Tina Fey is adapting Wiseman's book for the big screen. SNL's Lorne Michaels is the film's producer. Keeping things all in the family, SNL alums Tim Meadows (The Ladies' Man) and Amy Poehler (next year's Envy with Ben Stiller) also have major roles. The Los Angeles Daily News also reports the signings of Lacey Chabert, best known as Claudia on Party of Five (Fox), and Jonathan Bennett of ABC-TV's All My Children. At the same time, Lindsay Lohan's music career is also ready to take a giant step forward. She is expected to sign with a major record label within two weeks. |
