I'd like to upload my own avatar but I'm not sure how. I read the avatar section but didn't really find much help (maybe I overlooked something). I would like to upload one of my saved pics but I don't know if you can. Any help would be appreciated. This is the pic I'd like to use.

Welcome to Fanhost ValleyDog. (This'll be the first time I ever welcome "V.D.") :P http://imagevenue.com/ is the site that fanhost recommends for posting pics. I use it most of the time, but sometimes I use photobucket or imageshack to post full size pics instead of just thumbnail links.

I'm not sure about the avatar thing, maybe another member or a mod can help you out...

It's pretty simple, but there are a few steps you must follow:

1) For a custom avatar you must uploaded the 100px x 100px image to one of the sites the Common mentioned (www.imagevenue.com/ , www.photobucket.com , www.imageshack.com)
2) Within the FanHost Message Board, click the "User CP" button towards the top, in the middle
3) Under "Settings and Options", click the "Edit Avatar" button
4) Click the radio button for "Use Custom Avatar" and past the URL to the image location of your custom avatar from the image hosting site you use in step 1.

Thats about it.

It is even simpler than that.
Skip step 1 if the image is resident on your computer. Proceed with steps 2 and 3. In step 4, click the brouse button at the bottom of the page and search for the image you want to use. Try it.

haha yeah there's always that! I wasn't sure if that worked. I assumed I had my avatar hosted on LaceyRealm, but actually double checking it now I see that I did it by browsing to the image lol!!
It's been too long since I set that up

Thanks you guys, I'll try to post often and you have helped me. BTW common you aren't the first person to call me V.D. LOL I have about 500 Lacey pics and I'll try to upload as many as I can. If that's possible? I joined in early '07 and have forgot how to link so again thanks for the info. I hope we can keep this site going.
