| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would have normally posted these in the "Google Alerts" thread because they came via that means. BUT, it's not just articles, there are videos that both have Lacey in them from the recent Alberta Ferretti event: Alberta Ferretti Opens First US Flagship Boutique in LA Runtime 4m10s, Lacey's first appearance around 3m36s She talks about whatever Alberta Ferretti is (Fashion I think?) Stars React to Paula Abdul's Stalker Runtime 1m50s, Lacey about 1m22s The title says it all.. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | Is it me, or did anyone else pick up the subtle sexism inherent in these interviews? Like Lacey's line of "as a woman... it's something you have to look out for" or the other person's line of "it was a female stalker?!" as if females never do this sort of thing. I've been chastised more for wanting to inspect muslims at airports than women get for being cautious around men. I call double standard on that! Maybe I've had too many beers tonight, but am I wrong? |

| Member ![]() ![]() | I disagree. I think there is a perception of the world being more dangerous, but women are not helpless little flowers. They may face different dangers than men, but that doesn't mean they are more or less prone to safety issues. I do agree that "blaming the victim" for dressing provacatively is not the right answer. On the other hand, if one is so concerned with such things, one wouldn't tempt fate, would one? Of course, I think a female flaunting her body means something completely different than how a man perceives it too. Women should just be aware that there are men out there who only see an object to be attained rather than a person exercising her independence/maturity. |
