| Member ![]() ![]() | So some of you may have seen her work on Dr. Horrible or "The Guild" (check you tube). I remember seeing an interview from a video podcast where she mentioned going to this audition or that audition and never getting anywhere becoming a backup or an understudy for parts. This is where she realized 'well, if I want to make something out of my acting career, I'm going to have to do it myself." This was what spawned "The Guild" which has become quite popular among gamers. She teamed up with one of the creators of effinfunny.com who co-stars. My POINT in all this is that Felicia Day has a pretty loyal following of fans because she interacts with them. She's active in creating "grassroots" fame and not waiting around for all the big parts--including advertisements. Perhaps if Lacey were to do something similar by providing a place to interact with her more often and doing smaller internet projects and ads, keeping fans updated, and generally increasing her visibility, she'll increase in popularity enough to get the bigger roles. I imagine there can be some kind of "hierarchy" in the Hollywood acting world regarding the prestige of turning down advertisement jobs or whatever-- but this would certainly get her fans talking more. What does everyone else think? |

| Lacey's Man ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm starting to think she's avoiding bigger movies. Maybe it's just me being a fan, but I've seen a number of movies lately that I thought she would've done a much better job than the girl they put in the role. Off the top of my head, it would've been a good inside joke if she'd played Pepper Potts, and Tony Stark had replied to the "12 for 12" comment with "just 11". Not saying Gwenny did a bad job, just that Lacey could've done it better. A little makeup and she'd look whatever age they wanted her to. I tend to think that her frequent "I like my privacy" comments means she's just not interested in being the next Spider-girl or Betty Ross (could they have made a worse choice than Liv Tyler?) or whatever other action star you can think of, because that would mean people would recognize her a lot more often. Heck, she probably wants to get 10 fanmails a day and that's it. She wants to do drama - she is talented enough to BRING drama to a Blockbuster role. But she just wants to act now and then, be able to take time off whenever she wants, and be able to walk down Anystreet USA and not get mobbed, and we're just gonna have to learn to live with that. It makes her pretty normal; heck, it's what I like about her, and it drives me nuts because it looks like nothing's going on from this side of the fence! Lost in Space was a fluke - she was young, willing to try things, wanting to start breaking out of her Claudia image, and its poor script and poor reviews kept it (and its planned sequels) from being her entry into what most of us consider mainstream Hollywood. Mean Girls was another fluke - who would've thought it would do so well? It came out of nowhere, garnered her more fame than she thought it would. Close one, girl! Another couple films like that and your fanbase might break 1000! So I think she's perfectly happy with what she has; it's still fun to act and have a few fans, not a chore, and she can spend as much time as she wants with family and friends. |

| Member Newbie | ya, i agree with wannabe, she seems to care more about her personal life than being the richest and most famous person in hollywood and i really respect that. She has found a way to do what shes loves doing and still keep a personal life. Thats a pretty sweet deal if you ask me, and personally she gives me hope for my future. Im currently studying to be a musician and one day hope to be writing music for plays and movies in hollywood. But I dont want the media chasing me like rabid dogs with every move i make and thanks to lacey, i know it can be done. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | First off, I didn't see Lacey as Pepper Potts. I've always seen her as a tall skinny redhead. Lacey-- if I may say so-- is too curvy (in the good way) for that role. I'm sure she would have nailed the acting though. You are right though, there are a lot of roles out there she would have been perfect for had she a. auditioned or b. won the audition for. Second, I understand her motivation for wanting to be able to walk around freely without being harassed by the paparazzi, but think it's odd she's more interested in keeping her privacy when she does things like Maxim and Stuff shootings. Not that I'm complaining. Lastly, Felicia Day still retains a personal life though through sharing more of her public life with people, helps her image makes her more endearing IMO. I don't see how an actor can be so shy! Though again, I think your right that her "down to earth" attitude is one of her biggest draws. |
