| Member ![]() ![]() | So I don't know about the rest of you, but despite Lacey's latest (relative) deluge of popular works, I still get blank stares and invitations to explain who Lacey is 99% of the time when I tell people I'm a fan. Does anyone else have this problem, and what do you usually say? |

| Member of Sylar's Army ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i get the same thing. when i say she was on party of five and she played claudia i get blank stares back at me. it seems like no one has ever heard of PO5 except those that know of JLH and LC. it's not until i say "you know the one in mean girls, gretchen, the one that said, fetch a lot". that's when they'll say "oh yeah" and then go on their business. if it's a guy they usually follow the "oh yeah" with "she was hot in that movie." |

| Lacey Chabert Lover ![]() ![]() ![]() | It usually bugs me when I have to explain who she is. I haven't followed her whole career so normally I just say she was in Mean Girls. It's not such a bad thing that not everybody knows her. She does a real good job of staying out of the media and keeping her image clean. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | I don't know, I don't think she wants that [clean image] though. I think she's tried, and to some extent still trying, to shed the "little Claudia" mold. I think she's gotten rid of it by now by doing such films as Black Christmas (morbidly graphic) and Pleasure Drivers (sexually explicit). I think if she just concentrated on being a dramatic film actress, she could be one of the greats of Hollywood. For example, I thought she did great work in "The Brooke Ellison Story." |

| Member Newbie | It would help if she got roles for popular movies! I mean, geez, how many people ever heard of Natalie Portman before Phantom Menace? I'd seen her in LiS and that's it. Thought she was 12, so though I recognized she was going to be very appealing to the eye when she grew up, I didn't put any more thought into it. Didn't know she was Meg. Didn't know she was Eliza (saw a couple episodes with my niece). Only after seeing her appear in semi-provacative magazines did I start looking into her, and only started CARING about her because of interview snippets on those pics that got me interested in reading the rest of the interview, which revealed to me that, not counting the fame, we had similar upbringings and very similar values. What little there is to read about her dad, I can see myself doing pretty much the same things he's done in regards to his child-rearing style. (Oh, I also saw NATM, but only because several friends assured me it was actually funny.) I've since seen a few of her movies, and I can't say I'd ever have watched any of them otherwise. Heck, I don't recall even HEARING about most of them. If LiS hadn't been so poorly received (I liked all but the last 5 minutes - flying THROUGH a planet? Hello? WTF were you thinking?) and they'd made the other 2 they were wanting to, I daresay Lacey would be a lot more well-known. Since she was 15-16, additional movies would've seen her growing up and she'd've easily shed the child-star baggage she still has to deal with. OTOH, being less-famous keeps her more grounded, and therefore more attractive to someone like me. Jerks are a real turn-off. Last edited by wannabe : 05-12-2008 at 10:56 AM. |

| Newbie | You'd have thought she would've gotten more attention by now? "Something..something.."living dead"..something.. TOTAL HYPOCRITE!" - Me, editted greatly by Shaun Last edited by Shaun : 05-08-2008 at 12:23 PM. Reason: That seemed a bit insensitive to some, and was very off topic |
