| Member ![]() ![]() | So I'm driving to Oklahoma from Virginia for the next phase of my military training and had a thought today. Given that: 1. I'm basically passing to the north of Lacey's hometown 2. I took no leave days for myself during the holidays (Christmas and New Years) 3. I love road tripping 4. I bought a shiny new 8 Megapixel camera Should I at the conclusion of my training take a few leave days and go the long way back to Virginia stopping in Purvis, MS and take pictures of Lacey's hometown? Pros: 1. I would get to see Lacey's hometown 2. YOU might also get to see the pictures provided you IM me for them (and you have high speed internet) 3. I get to take some "me time" after 6 or so weeks of playing army in what I can only imagine will be utter coldness to the extreme (that's the technical term, by the way). 4. It would be fun visiting a place I've never been to before. Cons: 1. This might make me come off as a little weird or stalkish 2. Gas expense will be higher-- though not really a huge concern for me 3. Lodging and Food expenses-- again, not really a huge concern... I know there are plenty of "what ifs" to put in the "con" category, but I'm only looking at what IS right now. If you think of any other Pros or Cons, please post them along with your recommendation. I'm not sure if I want to myself which is why I'm presenting my fellow Lacey fans this question. Last edited by quicksilver : 01-04-2007 at 08:38 PM. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | It's actually more of a small town in southern Mississippi. I looked into how much farther it would be to visit the place and it's only 200 more miles on an already 1500 mile trip-- which isn't even as far as some places I've gone to visit friends for a weekend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purvis%2C_MS |

| Lacey Chabert Fan ![]() | I live about an hour away from Purvis and I've been through it quite a number of times. My best friend informed me that Lacey was spotted in Turtle Creek Mall several times browsing in Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works. I told her that when she spots her again to call or text me and try her best to stall Lacey for at least an hour. Though it's not likely for her to stall her for so long, it's still possible to catch up with her if I know in advance. Turtle Creek Mall is located in Hattiesburg, MS. which is about 15 minutes away from Purvis. If I ever get any info on when she'll be back in town again, I'll definitely be taking a trip up there. Even if I have to spend the night at my friend's house up there, I'll definitely wait it out until I see her. My friend and I randomly went up there around Christmas time last year and the mall was packed full of people! I scoped out Victoria's Secret and then B&BW, but nothing. I walked around a bit, but I couldn't spot her with hundreds of people walking around. But like I said, once I hear something from my friend, I'm leaving. You only live once and I might want to meet Lacey before my time is up here in this world. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | An update for you all: My training draws to a close and I've made the final details of my trip. You can expect my pictures to be available sometime in the middle of the week. As it turns out I have to go through Hattiesburg so I'm going to try and get some shots of Turtle Creek Mall as well. Incidentally, this trip takes me to a few other towns along the way to visit friends and family in the process which makes the trip that much more worth doing. As much as I hate the south, I seem inexorably tied to it. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | My first picture from my weekend warrior trip... http://www.filefactory.com/file/f9dbc9 I'm in Hattiesburg right now and got in at about 9 p.m. Being so late, I checked into a hotel and did a quick recon of the mall before settling in tonight. I took a quick picture of the mall sign. I don't have any experience with this site, so hopefully it will work for you. The area where the mall is has a lot of great places: Best Buy (might stop in there), McAlister's Deli, Chili's, Circuit City, etc. I'm sure I'll find a Starbuck's somewhere... I hope. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | I couldn't find Sweet Pepper's, but I did get a couple of shots of the Victoria's Secret. I also took a load of pictures of Purvis. I'm not sure what would be of interest, so I basically just took pictures of everything. http://www.filefactory.com/f/1158716ca06dbb81/ I'll post more later on, but I've been traveling all day and I'm tired. My impressions of Purvis are generally nice. It's really a cross between "charming rural" and "backwater." Though it is a small town with a lot of nice buildings, there are plenty of run-down places too. The proximity of Hattiesburg makes it a nice place to live if you want the seclusion of a small town with the advantages and comforts of civilization. One thing that I noticed about Purvis is that the Churches are all nicer and bigger than the City Hall/Police station. I guess it's telling about the crime rate/government intrusion involved in city politics. |
