Wish I'd known about Turtle Creek Mall sooner. I go through Hattiesburg a few times a year. Last time, a couple weeks ago, I took a short detour to see what Purvis looked like. Not unlike the little town I grew up in, which was 30 miles from "civilization".

None of your pictures are showing up. Do you still have them? I see a ton of pics that appear to be hosted on this forum, can you try that?

I was just up in Hattiesburg this past weekend to visit the same friend and yes, I passed through Purvis again. My friend, who was driving at the time, said "Hey Derick, we're passing through Purvis. Better take out your camera. At the time, the roads were wet due to the bad weather, so I really didn't put much effort into taking photos.

We stopped at Turtle Creek Mall again and yes, we passed by Victoria's Secret and B&BW again. *sigh*

Overall, Hattiesburg was awesome! There's a place called Hudson's Treasure Hunt where everything is 50%-70% off! I'm not kidding you! Half off HDTVs, DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs, HD-DVD(R.I.P.) Discs, 360, PS3, Wii, PSP games and accessories! Half off Rock Band bundle!!!! And that's only the beginning! I almost fainted while I was in there. I picked up Juno on Blu-Ray for 5 bucks!!! I told my folks about it and they're going up there this weekend. I might go to pick up more stuff. I might stop in Purvis this time to look around.

Sorry no more pics on the internet... I set up some free online hard drive to get them up and most likely they deactivated my account by now. I wish had been able to stay longer and actually check out the scene at Hattiesburg-- college towns are great places to find fun things to do or cool things to buy.

I was wondering if you saw the FEMA trailer corral they had? When I was down there it was like a sea of FEMA trailers from the hurricane that hit (Katrina?).

I think the next time I end up in that neck of the woods, I'll try to stay a little longer than 12-18 hours. I would have liked to check out the college campus.

Are you sure that "gifts" store wasn't stolen property? ;) Those are some pretty deep discounts. I'll definitely have to swing by there.
