| Member ![]() ![]() | So I know I said I wasn't going to see this movie, but I'm still curious to know what the consensus is about it (for those of you who have seen it). Also, post any thoughts or reflections on the film. I should have been more specific about not watching horror films and mentioned that stupid horror flicks are awesome; the ones that are so completely stupid they cease to be "horror" and start to be "comedy." SOOOO... if I can be conviced that Black Christmas is indeed one of these types of movies, I might be persuaded to drop coin on it. |

My favorite quotes: "This is supposed to be an entertainment and if it's going to be bad, it should be bad enough to be funny." "The acting is not bad enough, for the most part, and that's to the determent of the film. The fact that the gals in the victim pool have so much experience as child stars make Mann and Friss look horrible by comparison." -Eric Lurio, Greenwich Village Gazette "'Black Christmas' delivers a lot of what you'd expect from an R- rated horror film released on the holy day that our Lord and savior Jesus Christ was born: Someone gets impaled by a Christmas tree topper, someone else gets stabbed through the eye with an icicle, and there's a scene featuring the consumption of holiday-themed cookies that are made out of human flesh." -Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle Lurio's last comment there is at least a plus (presumably) for Lacey as well as the *others* in th film. | Goat Whisperer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a feeling that this movie is not going to rock as much as I originally anticipated so I skipped seeing it. I am definitely going to buy the DVD though. I buy all Lacey's movies on DVD... apart from Rugrats/Thornberrys I just wish she would be in the movies she is in for longer than she tends to be in them. ![]() |

| Member of Sylar's Army ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i'm watching this movie right now, finally found a torrent of it but the vid isn't that great, sounds ok. anyway i'm at the part where they find a gift to the sorority house from billy and the gift wasn't there before. so far lacey's role has been a few one liners and basically just sitting down on the sofa. and her character isn't the type of girl i would date. they're all playing snobby sorority girls who in some way or another deserve to get killed. so far the only interesting thing about the movie are the flashbacks to billy's childhood and why he went insane. more on this once i see the full movie but so far it's ok. finally lacey standing up and someone puking. **ok had to come back now since lacey's time in the movie is over. originally i thought she was the one that got it with the christmas lights but it seems that she doesn't. i just wish this movie was a lot clearer but by what i just saw it seems everyone else got some cool death scenes and she didn't. oh i'm not going to give it away but they did seem to find a part of lacey inside a car. this movie is way different than the original. in the original there was no background as to who billy was as all. he was just some guy that sneaked his way into the house and got into the attic and started killing the girls one by one. he would make those strange phone calls where it seemed there were all these voices overlapping one another (still don't understand how he did that). he does the same in this movie but not as much. in that movie you didn't see anything of billy except an arm, leg, or part of his face. in this one you see him walking around but you really can't see him clearly. also where they got the idea of billy stealing the eyes in the new one i don't know the original didn't have that. and billy seems to be looking for his sister agnus (actually his daughter, sick ain't he). by the way does anyone remember all those promo shots of the girls with their eyes torn out, lacey, michelle, and a couple of the others had those promos out, well that was the studio letting you know who was going to bite it in the movie. it's because of all this that the movie at least keeps you watching. there's a lot of new things that make it different. i'm guessing the real reason this movie didn't make it big at the box office is cuz no one wants to see a horror movie on christmas day, heck even during the holidays. but i bet you one thing, it'll be a big rental. it's acutally pretty good and still haven't really finished watching it and so far theres' a big twist at the end. not saying what it is but now the movie just stands on its own and has strayed away from the original.
