Thoughts on Black Christmas - Page 2

yeah i'll buy the movie just for lacey and michelle. but i think the torrent was missing something. cuz nowhere in the movie was there a person tied up in christmas lights and being dragged into the wood chipper thing. unless someone here has seen it in the theater and can confirm that scene was there, cuz i didn't see it at all. but i swore that was lacey's death scene only it wasn't. did they just change it? and yeah this is the type of movie that will be a big rental, horror movies always are, even the straight to dvd movies get heavily rented.

A big thing they do to make previews these days is use footage that ends up being cut from the final version of the movie. So you end up with scenes in the advertisement that aren't in the movie. I guess recycling doesn't just apply to soda cans and newspapers.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread because Black Christmas will be released later this year on HD-DVD!! That's right, Lacey in full high definition glory, the closest thing to actually meeting the sweet girl haha

by the way what are the actual release dates for the movie, regular and hd versions.

First off, what a complete & total waste of $12.50(my girlfriend really wanted to see it so I had no choice about the matter). The Wood Chipper Scene was never anywhere in the movie at all & nither was the part with Michelle holding the shotgun & saying whatever she said.

You're right, she & Michelle are barely in the Movie at all. Also, Lacey gets killed before Michelle if anyone was wondering.

I suggest if you really want to own this movie on DVD don't go wasting your money buying the HD-DVD version, just buy the normal DVD or just rent it & rip yourself a personal copy so you won't have to buy it at all.

Not sure about the DVD but I think I read somewhere today that the HD DVD version comes out on the 8th of May.

Rebel makes some interesting and valid points about the movie...however being the Lacey fanwhore that I am I'll still get the HD DVD hehe I need my Lacey HD fix!!

wow I just noticed that only rlm wrote his impressions on the film. Well I watched it last night (yeah I've been postponing it for wayyy too long)...

Ok I'm sure everyone knows the basic premise of the film so I'm not gonna bother explaining it.

First off, this movie is short...there's absolutely zero character development and you really could care less about who dies. Only Billy's character was developed more than others and I thought the flashbacks scenes were interesting and creepy.

I thought the acting overall was pretty good which kind of gave the characters a little bit more life. The death sequences weren't too bad, but because of the short running time, some of them were done too quickly...oh and the movie was really predictible too.

All things considered however, this movie was marketed as a no brainer/time killer/watch for fun type flick and I think it succeed in that regard. I didnt' feel like I was grinding through the movie and was entertained (I'm not nitpicky at all when it comes to movies).

So overall I did enjoy the movie...disapointed about Lacey hardly being in it? absolutely...will I get the DVD/HD-DVD when it's out?...you bet

i just downloaded and burned an actual dvd rip of the movie. as rebel pointed out that certain clips didn't turn up in the actual movie, i'm hoping that they come included in the dvd as extra features. if so this means more lacey and michelle scenes in the special features. i do agree that billy was the only character developed in the movie but it threw me a curveball with the whole sister storyline. wasn't expecting that after watching the original some time back cuz that one didn't feature that. either way i'm still buying it for lacey and michelle. although maybe not the hd dvd version.

It's "couldn't care less..." if you could care less, that means you aren't caring as little as you could be which doesn't really say much about the subject you could be caring less about; QED.

Sorry it's just a pet peeve of mine because so many people say it wrong.
